Very good chance it's brand new, just damaged packaging:

You'll see the Very Good listings at first, but keep scrolling past and you'll see the Like New-s eventually.

edit: Assuming my arithmetic is correct it's
    Very Good (133 in stock)
Like New (977 in stock) (edited)

Exactly the same here. Very happy with them

I’ve had my XM5’s for 18 months and use them every day for work almost all day long. They’re not cheaply made at all.

For me anyway, they’re very comfortable and haven’t once been uncomfortable. They’ve lasted without any breaks or issues.

The audio quality is amazing. I have been nothing but extremely happy with mine since day one.

Completely agree with this, use mine for work and very comfortable.
Only slight annoying is using it with multiple devices, on rare occasions it can drop out.
Other then that fantastic pair of headphones

    Most overrated headphones ever imo.

They're bass heavy out of the box but the EQ in the Sony Headphones app offers excellent customisation to resolve this.

I'm not sure there are better alternatives at this price point, having tested most of them.

    I wouldn't.

Sony's own refurb's are bad enough at £189, and with flaws upon delivery. Plus even at £189 brand new (recent deal on hear) they are cheaply made, and burn your ears after a short space of time . I ordered in both instances, and returned both.. I was so hoping they lived up to the hype, and they simply don't. (edited)

I guess you're talking about XM4s. These are the next model

So… are these good or not? One person says they’re great, another says they’re not & the 3rd talks about ‘MX4’ more than the XM5.

    They're great.

If you've only had "cheap" headphones before, no matter what £200-300 headphones you buy, you'll have a good experience upgrading. The differences once you've already been used to decent headphones is small and down to personal preference.

If you aren't the type of person to care enough to go out of your way to try each and every headphone available in this price bracket, you can be safe in the knowledge that these headphones are fantastic and most people will get a lot from them.

If you're that worried about making a bad decision, go find somewhere you can try them out.

Given these are used, do they come with free ear wax? If so - hot

We have both the MX4 and MX5 in our house. They are very similar to each other. The downside with the MX5 is that they don't fold down like the MX4 for putting in hand luggage on a plane. As the MX5 come with its own case, which might be to big for some peoples hand luggage. Have a search around on the internet for pictures. Either headphone gives great audio and is very comfortable for long use. I fly on business regularly and will wear my MX4 for many hours at a time with no discomfort. Great noise cancelling with both too.

On Saturday I wore mine as I walked from King’s Cross over to Euston station.
despite being surrounding by thousands of people I couldn’t hear them or the traffic around me.
    absolute bliss.

Seems to be many deals for these at the moment. Is there a new model coming out?

These have been £300 pretty much everywhere for a while. Amazon have dropped the price for 72 hours by £20 but that's about it. All other 'deals' are on refurbs.

If you want the NC functionality these are second to none. The actual sound quality, whilst very good at the price point, isn't much different to the MX4's to be honest. Therefore if anyone wants to spend less I'd buy them, rather than a refurbed pair of MX5's.

"I've been wearing them for 3 months but I don't like em. Can I send em back?" Amazon: "Yeah, sure"

Anyone have experience between the two different amazon Used - Like New conditions :

"Item will come in original packaging." and "Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged."

Prices are the same, and considering but can't decide between the two, logically, the first one should be in better condition since there's no note on damaged packaging?
    Cheers

Your logic sounds sensible but, with Amazon Warehouse, logic doesn't always apply.

Quality control and item descriptions are sometimes a bit random on Amazon Warehouse.
