Energy Efficient

With the Energy Rating A standard, this low noise unit is a really efficient air conditioner. It's great for you and great for the environment!

Super Cooling

300m3 of air circulated per hour means super cooling. This unit has air conditioning, dehumidification, ventilation and other functions integrated to keep you cool!

Ideal for home

In low fan speed the new and reduced sound pressure level of just 53dB(A) makes this an easy portable air conditioner to live with. The Vida 7000BTU is perfect for use in the home or office to provide personal cooling in rooms around 12-22m². Removing the hot, humid air from the room reduces the relative humidity which will help to remove the sticky feeling from the air during the summer months.

Just be aware of Ebuyers return / refund policy. I bought a computer component from them which cost £200. The item had the statutory 12 months warranty. This item went faulty after 10 months. The manufacturers insisted I dealt with Ebuyer who would not replace the item but refund me instead. HOWEVER they said the item was over 6 months old I had 10 months use out of the item before it went faulty so would only give me a 2 month partial refund which was £35. (Their T&C's for consumer 10.3)
(I did challenge this but was advised that I'd agreed to their T&C's when buying the item.)

Been burned on several occasions by Ebuyers shady tactics, one reason why I won't touch them with a barge pole in future which is a shame.

As these not a bit daft for the following reasons:

Hose pipe needs to be hung out of an open window, that will allow hot air back in,
Hose its self will get hot,
The units refrigerator/compressor will also get hot,

Sounds like having air con in car with widows open and the actual AC unit in the dashboard and not under the hood.

    No they are not daft.

7000 btu is not a lot. Use a BTU calculator before you buy.

    Replying to

Yes, unfortunately it’s expensive but worth it for these two days tbh. I’d say average was about 20p an hour

For those who haven't got one, our homes are very well insulated to save heat, but in warm weather it traps it instead, so close the curtains and windows facing the sun and open windows in the shade. Open the roof hatch and if you have velux windows open those too. You can see the heat exiting the roof from outside when it's this hot. Be aware that it does cause a chimney like effect and the draught can be strong enough to slam doors violently.
It won't give any cooling but it will get rid of the hottest air out of the house.

Don't open windows in the shade if the outside temperature is warmer than inside - not unless you want the warm air to come in of course.

These units are great as a temp fix, but the advertised cooling power doesn't take into account they suck in air from your room to pump the hot air out.
"Technology Connections" on YouTube did a great video about these portable units and the benefits Vs cons.
Get one, I did a few years ago and haven't looked back. But you have to think heat management and try to make sure you aren't just cooling the air to send outside the house.
    Dannyrobbo's avatar
In reality though you only need a temp fix. There’s literally one or two days a year it’s actually needed.

they are inefficient but they work. You can adapt them to reduce this effect with a second tube.

I got this exact same one, vida but the 10000 btu, I am extremely disappointed. The cooling is only if you are right next to it. Ive had it on throughout the night and its only cooled within a 1m vicinity.
Exhaust is out of the window with a separate seal kit. The one in the box is only for sliding windows.

Regardless massively disappointed, not sure why its so weak. Any suggestions of what i can try? (edited)

Weird, my one (the same model) has cooled the room down to 19 easily, it's positively chilly. Make sure you keep the room door shut as well, lol.

Would have buy it if it was not from Ebuyer. Horrible company to deal with.

They call it really efficient but it still uses 780w and very probably more in the real world rather than in ideal conditions in a testing lab. It will cost more to run than most things in the home other than ovens, heaters and tumble dryers and under the current cap will cost about 22p every hour rising by maybe 40% to just over 30p in October. That maybe worth it to many people but if you are struggling with your energy bills just be aware of the costs of running it for extended periods.

    7000 BTU is a bit low, I have a 9000 and wish I bought the 1200.
Anyway better than no A/C, we all need A/C these days.
Worth it just to annoy the eco-mentalists

Delivered tomorrow by which time the 2 DAY heatwave is over
    londonstinks's avatar
You'll still love it even in 26c temps and you're ready for next years inevitable heatwave. I've used my air con in UK up until mid sept some years.

Pathetic scenes in Tesco last night.
Certain people filling there trolleys with fans for a two day heatwave hoping to sell on for a quick profit.

This looks very similar to the unit I bought from Lidi last week for £169. I must say, it's been a life saver. I have managed to sleep comfortably on the hottest night since records began.
  13. jederer's avatar
£220 for me, have they increased the price the cheeky rascals?
    CynicalSalmon_'s avatar
    £220 for me too.

They have indeed raised the price -.-*

Pointless for this summer now. I have one, sitting in front of it now nice and cool. But it only gets used for 2 or 3 days a year. And we have probably had the peak now till next year.
    Nigel_Tufnel's avatar
If you work from home then anything over 25 becomes uncomfortable for me, so definitely use it more than 3 days.

Waiting for delivery this morning, hopefully it does cool my room it was 32° all night.
    Smoggy1970's avatar
It'll be back to 20 degrees by the time you get it 😁

I got the 10000btu delivered yesterday. My rooms are above average size and height and it does a good job
    But it is loud.

    Well worth the money
    rastro's avatar
I got the same—was an instruction manual included with yours? I was having trouble connecting the hose pipe…
  18. crazylegs's avatar
Put prices up 20 pound on this and the 5000btu too
  19. WienerDoggy's avatar
Just flogged a 12000 btu unit on gumtree. Too expensive to run, too noisy, too big.

Its been a while a go but I brought a Pioneer CD Burner back in the day from Ebuyer and they sold me a Grey Import that I could update with Pioneers firmware, I seem to recall I got a refund
  21. madazan's avatar
I have the lidl unit from last week and my bedroom is massive. What we did was to have a tower fan nearby so the cold air gets circulated further. Had a great nights sleep last night😴 .

    Dannyrobbo's avatar
It will, but unless it’s ground source it won’t work very well
