Not a 1 month contract if you want the voucher. See terms if you cancel within 60days

Just seen fyi this looks to be a Virgin contract, not an O2 contract. You only get benefits if it is an O2 contract.

Virgin are meant to be converting everyone to O2 at some point so surprised they are still selling directly.

They said it but never did it . Now virgin mobile is cheap brand of O2 Virgin media without benefits. Virgin Media also sent me email saying I will get hub 5 but when I applied they said I was not eligible. I got both hub 5 and O2 SIM by leaving and joining again as new customer. (edited)

You will be sent an email including your gift card from Giftcloud (no-reply@giftcloud.com) once your sale has been confirmed by the provider. This can take up to 180 days from the order date. You will have 90 days to claim your egift.

Call them on 202 say you are out of contract and want to renew but saw a smarty deal for £10 for 60gb they will offer you a 70gb for £10 for 12m the deal is for 40gb and a free 30gb bolt on which ends after 12m

A little off topic as I am not commenting on this deal.
Being with Virgin, I chose to switch from EE to O2 to get a previous deal. I have been very disappointed with the O2 signal /reception in all sorts of locations. I will switch back to EE when my contract is up. Just a general observation.

My signal was also poor with them . But in last 6 months I got 5G and signal very good on O2 . The network checker still says no 5G but I get full 5G signal so with them . I have very poor signal from both EE and Three but very good from both O2 and Vodafone.

Had to move away from O2 after 10 years as their network & signal in my area has been terrible for months. Literally unable to load a webpage when out and about. Switched to EE & now get 5G speeds, unreal and well worth the few quid extra p/month. Check out your local coverage before signing up.

I had the same experience with o2. Avoid at all costs is my advice (edited)

Pop into your local O2 shop, they'll be able to assist

So this can use O2 priority as well and will just roll over and be £8 each month?
    matrich1610's avatar
    matrich1610
You don’t get O2 priority, as it’s a Virgin contract. It piggybacks O2

Right guys I need advice. I'm with virginmedia for bb/phone/TV but with this price hike going up to £80 I was going to leave. I'm with 3 for mobile but was thinking of switching to O2 on a rolling contract. If I downgraded the VM to say just BB and switched to O2 for mobile would I get this volt upgrade to double BB speed? I'm just not sure how it would all work 🤷🏻‍♂️ any help in explaining would be great

Don't move over if you need esim. I started a contract after they said I could have one confirmed on a phone call. Once I had ported over they said they don't offer them anymore. They have cancelled it and not charged me anything but it was a massive faff and a credit check.

Sorry if I am confused. Is this a rolling contract and is it £8/month every month?
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
    ashyt16turbo
According to CS it's a 1 month rolling contract, but read the small print as you'll be tied in for longer just to get the voucher (IF you actually get it).

I’m on O2 on both personal and work mobile. Signal is absolutely shocking. Can’t load webpages even when it says 5G and is so slow. Usually have to call through Wi-Fi as there’s not enough signal. I do absolutely rinse greggs for free hot drinks though so get my £8 worth back
    ashyt16turbo's avatar

Yep there's something wrong with O2's data network.
I don't get 5g because of my SIM card. When I get a nearly full 4g signal it's fine, but if it drops down a few bars or goes to HSDPA then it's horrendously slow, sometimes not loading at all.

HSDPA is still capable of something like 7.2mbps, so there shouldn't be an issue.

Also I've noticed that in higher population areas, even with full 4g it can be terribly slow.

It seems to me that since Virgin media customers got pushed on to O2's network it's got worse.

Unfortunately for me O2 is the only network I can actually pick up a signal in my work place otherwise I'd move to Vodafone. (edited)

I tried signing up to this. Got quite far through the order, entered bank details, had the credit check, was emailed the pre contract agreement to approve. Then the next web page didn’t load. Had over an hour of painful webchat to confirm the order hadn’t completed but a credit check had occurred. Offered to reprocess but without the voucher, which I obviously declined. Have to email a special address to get the credit check removed.

    Wish I’d never bothered!

If I get this and as I am already a virgin customer..will this boost my virgin speed with volt?

If you are a virgin broadband customer do the terms of the voucher exclude you as already having a plan?
Does volt then apply so 50gb instead of £25

Does this work for existing customers, and can you use Volt to increase to 50GB?

I just took another 12m contract for £7.99 - 15gb but I got 30gb with volt. Can I still change to this deal or not worth it? I won’t use even 30gb in a month on 4/5g

The voucher will only be paid on approved sale by the provider. This offer may be withdrawn or amended at any time.
Customers who cancel their order, cancel their contract or do not commence their contract within 60 days of purchase will not be eligible for a reward voucher.

Tried to order, gave my address where I have Virgin Broadband already, it fails to recognise that it provides Internet at my address and then reverts the deal back to £10pcm. As usual, as per my experience, Virgin has the worst website/UX of all telecoms provider. Even Lyca/Lebara beats Virgin Media by miles.

Their prices are different for existing customers and new customers . If you try as new customer with different email address or spouse name, it will go through. As soon as the system recognises existing customer, the discounted prices disappear. All their cookies are watching whether you are existing customer or new customer, so delete cookies and temporary files before ordering

I can't work out if this deal through Virgin gets things like O2 travel for £6 a day in USA etc. The Virgin website doesn't say it does but if you dig into terms they mention O2 EU roaming
