Google $20 trick .......although I have managed upgrades in Vegas with a smile and asking if there are any complimentary upgrades too. One time I didn't try at all and after a long delay getting there was very grumpy and got upgraded from their cheapest room type to a one bedroom suite ......so anything is possible.

Most hotels charge a "resort fee"

Depends who you book with, so just be careful...been there 3 times and never paid a penny for the resort fee.

We had two suites with unlimited access to the Chairman's Lounge, if you're able to get a room/suite with a fountain view you will not regret it.I personally think that 7 days is ample, though it was broken up by taking in some shows, doing the helicopter tour for lunch at the Grand Canyon and visiting the Old Strip down by Freemont Street to do the zip wire.

That's the best sounding 7 day Vegas trip I've heard of in a long time. And they say Vegas is just about the casinos. Hats off to you. Amazing itinerary.

Pointless exercise, no way in the world this will be honoured. When you look into terms and conditions enshrined in law for travel cancellations, the travel companies can cancel for no particular reason and without penalty or compensation offered to the consumer if done with plenty of notice (i'm sure it is 8 weeks before departure), even though the consumer loses deposits in most circumstances when the shoe is on the other foot.

Virgin totally missed our row for drinks in Dec 15. When I got up the air hostess had a real bad attitude without a sorry. Put me off. Also when went to Tokyo with them they forgot to load the kids packs (pens, colouring book etc) so my kids spent a 12 hour flight with only seat back entertainment. I do like Virgin but they are far from perfect. Thomas Cook in PE in April treated us like royalty!

Edited by: "Kez64" 1st Feb

Who cares what airline or hotel it is at this price, would be a good deal without car hire.

I think a flight is a flight generally, I was expecting to be wowed by Virgin after people raving about it and paying extra to fly with them. The flight got me there fine, no worries.

Flew there with Thomas Cook last time, had to pay a few quid for drinks and headphones but really nice flight, great seats and saved a load. I know this can happen to anyone, but the Virgin flight home we could have caught hadn't even left England and was 9 hours late.

Would never fly Virgin to Orlando again, very poor cabin service, … Would never fly Virgin to Orlando again, very poor cabin service, arrogant and very old tarted up plane.

I agree with this 100%. Service was so bad made an official complaint when I returned.

Agree with the comments about the planes and cabin staff.
We flew to New York with them and back from Orlando and what a contrast!
The New York route is aimed at business customers and has a lot of competition,so new planes and freindly professional staff.
Orlando gets the worst planes and surly, lazy staff for the scummy holidaymakers.

NOT impressed and I wouldn't fly them again.

Agree, also those nice games in back of seats are great as long as the **** behind isn't punching the dodgy touchscreens to score high on bejeweled for an hour... also whilst drinks on tap is nice, it loses its charm when you get a soft member of the cabin crew who doesn't know how to say no, giving out far too much alcohol to rowdy passengers.

Not great in my opinion. A flight for two people for a week to Miami in February, that includes basic economy car hire (no collision damage waiver etc) for £1049.37. You'd be better booking flights and car hire separately, and giving yourself the option of travelling for longer than 7 nights.

Just my opinion though.

Dezontk why the obsession? You sound extremely bitter and hurt. Loool

If you like kissing and public displays of affection so much come to the UK. We have open dogging sites where people can watch strangers carry out various sexual perverted acts in public. If your lucky they might let you join in.

We also allow naked ramblers and cyclist to pass through villages and towns whilst exposing their private parts to all (including innocent children).

I would do everything to avoid Virgin. Terrible flights, awful customer service and a lot of things advertised in the brochure were unavailable. Booked a room for a family of 4 and they expected 3 of us to sleep in 2 x 115cm beds pushed together. One of us fell through the middle every night so had the most uncomfortable 2 weeks ever...

They never seem to give a toss about the people on the plane and generally run out of food on every flight back from the US.Give me the ropey old men and women on United and American Airlines any day who are there to serve you rather than to look cool.Edit: forgot to mention at the end of the flight the head flight attendant come on the tannoy to tell what a wonderful job all the flight attendants have done and blows smoke up their bums! You will be able to read without registering but if you want to post and ask questions then yes, same as other forums. I registered back in 2003 so not sure exact info you will need, probably just an email and password.

Thanks for all of that - will bear all your points in mind. Have been once before at Xmas, but it was before we had kids so our holiday requirements were somewhat different to what they are now! Will keep an eye out on the flight prices too - do I need to register or anything on the DIS boards site?

Its all about booking at the right time and being flexible.
Sometimes flying at beginning of week can save £100's compared to flying at the end of the week. Fly from London instead of regional, fly indirect, book everything seperate rather than a package.
A few weeks ago August flights were about £400 each, same now are £700-800 each. No-one knows if they will drop again or stay high.
I am a Moderator(wayneg) on this forum below, myself and others will help as much as we can over there but you have left it a little late for this August. Xmas is great out there, I have spent 5 in Florida but its also the busiest time of year, parks often close for overcrowding and can be as cold as here, I would only advise someone with a few trips under their belt to visit at Xmas.
