I am looking for my first gravel bike. Will this be better than Riverside 700 I have right now (edited)

By farrrr, this is 9.9kg with carbon forks whilst the riverside is 14.5kg.

Riverside 7000 has only 8 speed and has v brakes whilst this has disk brakes. and a 1x10 gears giving you a solid but simple selection to tackle any terrain.

This is proper value for money I wish I bought this I just bought a hybrid last week (edited)

I’ve been after a road bike for a while now as I have a hybrid and hate it. Is this similar to a road bike in any way? Looks the same but with different tyres

Yes, same same but different. You can fit wider tyres which is amazing, but it's not quite as fast.

It pains me seeing all the Vitus deals and knowing Wiggle/C2R don't accept any Cycle 2 Work schemes. I'd take a Vitus Substance over a Triban but the Cyclescheme discounts just make the Triban so much better value for money...

Good price for the spec, got the Microshift advent gears on my planet X fat baz and can't fault them, been very reliable for the last 2 years.

Being a cx bike, is this likely to be a bit aggressive and uncomfortable for pootling about on gravel paths vs an actual gravel bike?

I've got both. It's not that bad but not quite as forgiving. I've done some ridiculously steep off-road stuff on the gravel bike, the geometry feels a bit more suited to that and it has hydraulic brakes. I've not tried it on the Vitus (yet). The Vitus is way more responsive though and faster on the road. For pootling on gravel paths it's fine, just don't expect MTB levels of comfort

Yeah Advent gears are good. Mates got them on his Topstone they are decent

I got microshift advent gears on my specialised sirrus x and they are way better than my other bike with Shimano , less headache and chain don’t slip

If it had hydraulics would be perfection for me

Amazing price. Paid £629 and thought that was a bargain. I'd recommend it. The gears are ok. The brakes are better than I feared as they're dual piston at least - still not up there with hydros though. My Alfine Pinnacle Arkose is better off-road, but this is better on road.

Can I ask your height and frame size? They only have L and XL listed and both seem quite large as I am 5' 10"

My CRC order for £629 hasn’t been delivered yet - delayed by parcel force again today - reckon it’s worth cancelling and getting this instead?

No harm chatting to them on live chat

I've said it before but the prices on wiggle/CRC are AmAzInG! I have Cycle2Work which can be used on Tredz, but the prices without a cycle scheme on Wiggle are superior!

I have decided to buy some sweet Aero bars for my road bike

Wish I had waited, ended up getting the Calibre Lost Lad back in May. Gone over the 28 days return period 😔

that is really cheap for a lightweight bike. anything under 10kg costs a lot of money.

received mine yesterday...lovely bike, slightly spoiled by the fact some idiot (factory or wiggle?) had done up the thru axle at the back with what i imagine was an impact gun. So tight i had to loosten it with a long allen key and extension bar. Thread seemed ok but some signs of being a bit strained. Gonna live with it. Saddle bolt was also done up to an amazing degree.
