Same price at Chain Reaction (they're the same company), it's sometimes worth comparing to see which offers best cashback but I think they're both around 1% for a bike

Mine arrived last week from Chain Reaction. Really, really pleased with it.

Have thrown an additional £23 at it to upgrade seat and handlebar grips - out-of-the-box seat was painful immediately and the grips were uncomfortable a short way into a ride.

Hi can you recommend which seats and handlebars are good and any links to buy them?

Looks like a good commuter bike.

Watch the sizing. Completely wrong. I'm 5ft 10in and sizing said a medium. Should have been a large. Now stuck with a bike that's too small.

Interesting. im 180CM and last bought a large and regretted it. I sold it and have been on the lookout for a medium. I like 56/54 in a road bike.

tempted, but would size L be good enough for a 6'6" guy with longer legs, smaller torso?
    Crossbow's avatar
XL is perfect for longer legs probably.
L will be slightly on the smaller side I'm thinking, but it could be fine & you'll only know for sure once it arrives & you can set it up to suit.

Perhaps for now visit the manufacture's page vitusbikes.com/col…022 & access the Geometry tab to look closely at the finer measurements for L to determine if it will be suitable or not.

Measure your inside leg for a start...

The middle chainring looks tiny! I have a triban 520 and it's got 50 teeth on the large chainring which I'll often use in combination with the 13 tooth cog at the bag (12-25 cassette)

    50/13 gives a x3.846 drive ratio

    Can this compare? (edited)
    Superman_turbo_pro_3000's avatar
Just checked this only has as 38 tooth chainring and a 12-28 cassette, meaning the biggest ratio you can hope for is 38/12 or a x 3.166 drive ratio...

It wouldn't be enough for riding more than 5 miles around a city. Definitely not enough for longer countryside rides or touring.

(at a brisk pace that is, because of course you can ride slowly for miles on end) (edited)

Do they not do cycle to work?

Is this the same as chain reaction? I bought from them and my banks statement shows wiggle ltd

Don't worry, it's the same company.

I got the medium and it seems small but I'm not even very tall. Maybe I just need to adjust the handle bar height
    JC7's avatar
how tall are you if you dont mind me asking? might have to upgrade to large

700c (road bike) wheels and better gears on the Felt
650b (MTB) wheels and disc brakes on the Vitus

I'd get the Felt if I mostly rode on roads and the Vitus if I rode on a lot of gravel/towpaths/cobbled streets.
Both are amazing value and neither is a bad buy.

What is the point of the quick release front wheel? Just easier to steal... Especially in London
    ArthurDent1's avatar
If you're planning to lock any bike up in a public place it should have security fittings on both wheels, the seatpost, etc. Standard nuts. bolts and hexbolts are no deterrent.
