I have a 7kg bag for £8 if anyone's near Stockport

would last a few years cos you dont need that much

It's never worked for me, always made a mess of the lawn. Unless if course my 'lawn' was 100% moss and it killed it all!

Great price regardless of previous alleged offers of £1. Does the job and yes grass does grow better, it also does kill the moss etc, but does also need regular applications every 6 months or so, that's why this offer is defo a thumbs up.

Thanks will pick up tomorrow

These are discontinued and have never been as good as the Bosch equivalent 10.8/12v range. If I was going to invest in this type of compact tool (personally I have, love em) I would get a Bosch kit like this for £129
ebay.co.uk/itm…368

The Bosch impact driver is an awesome little tool for it's size, as is the combi/drill driver the, 2ah batteries last well, the charger is a lot faster than the Makita one and the L-Boxx is super tough and well designed worth the extra alone over this half hearted Makita stuff.
Edited by: "toaster" 6 h, 44 m ago

I have this set for a few years and it’s great but not sure this is a good price. This is the old model. The new one has higher capacity batteries etc.

I have this set, It's good but the impact driver could've been more compact. That's my only complaint really. Some of the 18V Makita impact drivers are more compact than this in their front to back depth and will therefore get into tighter spaces. The Bosch equivalent of this set is very compact and with hindsight I would've bought that set for the extra money.

Apart from that minor observation, good deal.

Great price for these! Quality little set. Heat!

I have these. Would highly recommend!

I agree. People are anxious when their current understanding leaves them …I agree. People are anxious when their current understanding leaves them out of their depth. School-level 'electric circuits' is too simplistic, and reliant on using 'stock phrases' to give the air of understanding, but rightly so because the ideas are abstract and beyond the abilities of most 15 and 16 year old. People will think that running 3 extension leads from another extension lead or daisy-chaining them to add range is dangerous, or be surprised when a microwave, toaster and kettle trip one of those reset-able circuit breakers in their fuse box.My concern with these devices lies in the switch-mode power supplies, the devices used to transform the voltage down and rectify it to DC. They are meant to be very efficient and produce very little waste heart, but my experience of the transformers in cheap LED light bulbs made me question this. The cheap LED lightbulbs I bought a few years back are actually less efficient than the CFL bulbs they replaced. I only realised this when the first LED bulb stopped working after 6 months and I attempted to remove it from the fixture and discovered how hot the transformer was (too hot to hold - I had to wrap a couple of socks around it to actually get it out). To be clear - I am not talking about the light producing end, but the heavy end which fits into the bayonet socket, and it is surprisingly heavy. I removed a working one and found the exact same thing - the cheap switch-mode power supplies which are used in cheap LEDs get really hot, and I wouldn't be surprised if similar devices are used in these wall sockets. I would question the fire-risk they might present and to a much smaller extent how long their mean-time-before-failure. I'm down to 2 LED bulbs from 4 in 2 years.

One of the LAP branded USB wall plates quoted 75mW as power used when not actually charging. I think a TV is supposed to use less than 1watt when in standby. I bet many people that complain about USB wall plates leave their TV on standby (or don't even have the chance to turn it off as not many have proper power switches!)

This offer is great for a DIY person in their own home of their not too fussed about applying 3 coats or so another hand buying twice the amount of paint (a lot of the Dulux non trade is super thick hence you tend to need more) it’s great marketing in all fairness to wickes. Trade will cost you a few quid more but is worth it every time in my opinion. For the lad/lady after eggshellLeyland trade is good for acrylic eggshell for me...it’s great stuff!! We use it on schools all the time. All decorators will have differing opinions on paints but the one thing we do tend to agree on is BUY TRADE. Genuinely I have turned up on jobs where a customer wants to supply materials and went for the wickes range or b&q as it was on offer and cheap and I’ve immediately got the lads back in the van! All good if it’s a diy express job

Which trade paint do you recommend? I've just bought a house and the whole lot needs painting after it's skimmed. Every ceiling/wall.

Seems like a solid deal

Not a "deal" per se as has been this price for at least 12 months. However if it helps someone to save a bit of money. Good luck with removing old concrete and disposing thereof ..our local tip now charges £4.00 per rubble sack.

I would recommend this stuff as I used it to concrete in 6 fence posts that are standing strong today in a windy part of town (up on a hill). Remember though folks, you need to dig at least 3ft down with your posts, and old postcrete stopping you digging down far enough it not an excuse. Get a sledgehammer or hammer + chisel and extract it

I have this mower (34c version) and it's not great. Very plastic-y, didn't come with the right screws or all the right parts, and leaves grass behind and out the side of the mower. Def. worse than my last Bosch mower :-(

I guess it's a pretty good deal (I paid £65 on Amazon) ... but FWIW I'll never be buying another flymo again, even at that price.

Good luck with that claim.

Despite knowing full well that it is the retailers job to put any issues right under your statutory rights (forget their store policy), this attitude is what retailers rely on.

This applies with everything you buy - know your rights, back yourself, use a free complaint website like Resolver to keep your issue and the retailer's responses in writing (making it a 5 minute job to raise the case), and then escalate to an Ombudsman at the earliest opportunity if/when they refuse. An Ombudsman can also award additional compensation for any time you have wasted from their refusal to put this right.

The law is so clear on this, yet many fail to enforce the statutory rights they paid for when they bought the item.

How did you install them? I put up 6 in our garden and they are still standing 2 years later, and we live on top of a hill where it's extremely windy.

I dug down 2 foot and postcreted new 8ft fence posts in, then in the middle of every 3 panels I screwed in a diagonal brace behind the middle fence post. The braces were 2 more fence posts and were also postcreted in. I used green outdoor screws with 3 brackets each side of each panel. Thing has withstood storm after storm in the windiest place I have ever lived (we moved here 2 years ago, first thing I did was erect a new fence as the previous had blown down).

daskapital2nd Jan

Get concrete posts with the recess in them for the fence. Won't blow over …Get concrete posts with the recess in them for the fence. Won't blow over and when they get old and knackered you just slide them up and out and slot a new one in. My neighbour keeps replacing his fence like every year because he has wooden fence posts. They literally rip the supporting batten off the post every time theres wind more than 20mph

Make sure you add some wedges between the post and the panel. First it stops wobbles and secondly it makes them harder to steal. Mate woke up one morning and somebody had stolen all 16 panels from the side of his house.

I used these 2 years ago, still going strong, used 3 X L shaped fence brackets on each side and they have held up really well, sure there are probably better but if you're in a budget and can install these properly they will last against a storm
