For anyone still interested I did the following just yesterday, so it still works this way. Also, as always - subscription has to be expired in order for the below to work:

- bought 3x 12m GamePass Core for 3x 32.99
- bought 1x 1m GamePass Ultimate code for 8.99

Consumed all 3 core codes first giving me 3 years of GP Core.
Consumed Ultimate code and agreed to conversion 3:2
Turned on recurring billing for 1 free month of Ultimate.

Ended up with 26 months of GP Ultimate for 107.96£

Works out 4.15£ per month.

Wish you could still get PS plus deals from third party sellers and stack them instead of waiting on Sony to offer 1 year deals. I was with them for about 8 years until it ran out in January, didn't renew as I didn't feel the jump in price was worth it for me. Got an email the other day saying sorry to see you go we can give you 20% off your first MONTH Looks like I'm holding out til Black Friday then.

Ultimate game pass is for your Xbox account, which will cover you on an Xbox Series X and any other device you have logged into, like a PC or Xbox mobile app, which is what I'm currently logged into.
It works on series S too, and older consoles to an extent.

Eneba has 1 month non-stackable keys for something like ~£5. Use UrbanVPN (or any VPN of choice) and activate them in your browser.

I buy a month here and there when there's something on GamePass I actually want to use, or when work/travel isn't to intense that I actually have evening to play games.

There's a rumour Xbox is going to announce they're going full third party (all games on PS5, probably Switch 2) at their upcoming June event. If not then, by the end of the year there won't be much reason to own Xbox hardware anymore.

I did the VPN trick a while ago. I know I could wait until the sub runs out, but no guarantee that offer will work forever so good price for a top up.

So seen a few people comment. And had it myself when I tried to convert Turkish gold with a US GPU code.

It then says there is a region mismatch. Has anyone figured out how to get around it?

Or were people just converting eith the wrong GPU code (non-stackable maybe?)

Really depends on what games you like and how often you'll play.
If you think you'll love something like Forza Horizons or Assassin'sCreed, then Gamepass is worth it. However, the cost of buying a console needs to come into consideration as well.
