They could do that now.

VAT and duties are absolutely nowt to do with being in Europe.

But, as an example of a country outside the EU, Norway currently charges significantly more for imports than we currently do (25%). And that includes items coming from inside the EU as well.

Almost nailed on Brexit will see us subjected to similar import fees from the EU I'd have thought.

Certain games just aren't suited for them, but you're often given a choice of inputs. Doom VFR can be played with the standard DS4 controller, Move controllers or Aim controller.
Skyrim can be played with the DS4 or Moves.

What others did you get?

I got Steelseries 840 cause I wanted wireless but ability to use with mobile as well. Did alot of research and these seem the best in what it does without looking like a twat on the street wearing astro A50. bit of a different price bracket though but was considering these for a while until i could afford decent wireless
Currently £55 directly from Razer, was looking at these but cashed out some of the zSilver (Razer Gaming currency) and got a discount on the 7.1 version
Good price - i may of purchased if I hadn't just bought a hyperx cloud 2 headset for £49.95 on ebay (new+sealed)
i won a pair off the them few weeks back off razer , not too bad if u ask me for that price ....

How strict are hukd by the way, I've put two posts up today, and both have been removed.... Bit of a joke if you ask me. Then you contact them, and it takes them two days to reply, what's the point? I'm surprised they didn't remove this one for misspelling the word Asus (I didn't but that was an example)

These are absolutely useless for gaming (or anything) with on the PS4.

On someone's advice a few years ago I bought the PS Vita earphones and have not looked back since! They're far superior to these in every way. Paid a fiver for them in 2015, a shame they're £20 now. But well worth the investment imho.

Got mine a couple of days ago and the sound is very good considering their £19.99. Battery life is awesome been listening to them constant for the last 5.5 hours and no sign of them dying they were charged when i got them.

Overall for the price you cant go wrong!
Had a pair of these last week but sent them back because as good as they are, they are just too uncomfortable and not suitable for me for anything longer than an hour or so.
Tiptop price & aptX that works!

Got a few Taotronics bits here and there, the build quality is very good, similar to Aukey and made well to last in most cases.

The car vent phone & tablet holders are very sturdy!
Hot for battery life.

Looks like they use Windows Sonic.

msdn.microsoft.com/en-…spx

On Xbox One, Windows Sonic capabilities are always available for the consumer, and are enabled via the Settings App -> Audio.

Display Identification Data (EDID). Note that selecting this option the first time requires the user download the Dolby Access app.

The “Turn on 7.1 virtual surround sound” (Windows) or “Use virtual surround in apps” (Xbox) checkbox allows all existing applications that were capable of rendering to 5.1 or 7.1 channel formats to now treat headphones as a virtual 7.1 device. Content that previously would have only been heard in multichannel via a multichannel home theater, and which would have utilized a linear downmix over headphones, can now be virtualized (using the format specified in the dropdown) and heard over any pair of stereo headphones.

When Windows Sonic is not available (for instance, when playing to embedded laptop stereo speakers, or if the user has not explicitly enabled Windows Sonic per above), the number of available dynamic objects returned by ISpatialAudioClient::GetMaxDynamicObjectCount to an application will be 0
It’s not the 7.1 that model is more expensive, that’s just a typo

Turtle Beach Stealth 350VR PS4 VR Gaming Headset @Tesco Batley - £9.66

Found 4th FebFound 4th Feb
Found instore Tesco Batley seems like a good price as it is £59.99 online quite a few PS4/Xbox One gaming accessories available Also tv and mobile accessories from 50p
Great headphone replacement if you have Oculus Rift and had that annoyingly often ribbon tear issue inside the headband
that results in your Rift being away for week(s) being repaired. I had it happen a second time so went for external headphones instead of RMA'ing and found the 350VR worked really well. I paid £35 from Amazon and |I thought that was a great deal.

Pros:
They sound great and have very good spatial audio, maybe not as good compared to high end 7.1 but better than the original Rift headphones. As good as my £70 Vodo's.
The headband is wider and has notches cut out of the foam to fit over over the rift perfectly.
The long audio cable is the same length as the Rifts so its nice to run them together with tape. (don't bother
with the included Velcro straps, they are too loose, I used black insulation tape every 3 inches and it looks very tidy,
I still use Rifts microphone for chat, but the mic on these phones allows you to monitior yourself talk, which is really nice.

Cons:
Any external headphones make the headset a little trickier to put on. These at least are designed to fit around your headset.
The built in micro USB rechargeable battery lasts a long time, but if you forget to charge the headphones they wont work at all.
Crap headphones. A tenner is probably all they are worth
anyone confirm these have been seen at any other stores?
How many are left
Good headset, just no stealth to it. Just sent one back to Game as it was terrible at keeping out noise and the noise cancelling mic just fed in all the surrounding speech and noise instead of mine. At this price I would still buy one for when friends come over though, they can swap between them without hassle.

I've got these and not impressed with the sound playing PS4. Music is much better but as they're gaming headphones, I'll be taking them back. I bought to replace a HyperX Stinger headset, which at £39.99 sound miles better imo, and have volume control (sometime handy).
I think i'll be buying them again (replaced HyperX set as one side had lower sound after I dropped them quite heavily, were ace until then)

HyperX Stinger @ Currys £39.99 - if anyone needs

Edit: I read teatime's comment earlier - "150 ohm, so you need something decent to drive them" so maybe thought they'd perform better plugged directly into my surround sound amp and they are awful - no bass whatsoever, sound is tinny and lacks depth. So bad that I might have a duff pair, but if I haven't, they have sound equivalent to JVC gummy earphones (I expect)!!!
I don't normally use headphones directly into the amp, so as a baseline, tried my daughters cheapo Philips headphones (£11.99 from asda) which sound 10 time better than these (hence me thinking I have a defective product).

This headsets ear cups padding looks very cheap to me
I've commented on these before: hotukdeals.com/com…764

But in short this is a great deal, even cheaper than before. As has been commented above:

* Closed cup, so very little sound escapes
* 150 ohm, so you need something decent to drive them (soundcard). Definitely not for low powered devices like mobiles
* All surround sound headsets will have their own sound card (USB device normally). These are 3.5mm jacks so plug into your motherboard or soundcard. If you want Surround (which is basically just software anyway), then either get an Astro Mixamp, use Windows 10 built in Spatial sound (Windows Sonic for Headphones), or download the Razer 7.1 surround software.
* I personally found the mic very good, but mileage may vary.

I also have the Astro A40s and I honestly prefer these, I had to tweak my equaliser settings for my soundcard, but I use them daily and find myself hearing things others I play with don't.

Only thing I’d choose the visor for over a rift is if you wanted to run VRchat with a mobile setup and didn’t want to carry round the rift sensors, but the visor performance in vr chat is so bad compared to rift I’m not sure I’d pick it even then.

Personally i found the SDE more obvious on the HP and Lenovo headsets i owned. As far as lower spec needed to run the WMR, yes that is true for the basics but once you start running aaa games the requirement is the same as the rift, not as though WMR is really suited to gaming.

How is it not suited to gaming? the controllers are more responsive and accurate than the psvr, and it has steam support as well as native windows store stuff like likes Arizona sunshine, space pirate trainer, and Superhot vr witch all look and play great if you have a pc that can play vr.

Their is a real air of elitism in this thread and it seems to be coming from people who clearly don't know what thier talking about, weird how their both rift fanboys.

It came free with the a laptop i was buying via a black friday deal, like i said i was a bit snobby about it thinking what the hell is this i bet its crap but it really surprised me and this is coming from someone who has used my friends vive and owned a psvr, i was buying the laptop and it was a nice little extra.

you say it runs stuff better but Robo recall, Superhot vr, rez, elite, and Thumper all run without issues for me.

you go on about comfort but the more balanced nature of this means the headsets is not resting on your nose or face like it is on the rift, the comfort and the flip up visor on these and commented on in the above link that you referenced they talk about how comfy it is compared to its contemporary's.

But ease of setup your joking right? this is a hdmi lead and a usb and you plug it in walk round your room with it to set the boundry and your pretty much good to go. i don't have space to keep sensor towers up all the time but with this you just plug it in and off you go whenever you want to use it no prossessing boxes no messing about just plug and play.

As a discounted way into VR these are great and i've enjoyed my time with it massively, yes if i was paying £400 and had a choice between the two id most likely not get this headset over the others, but as a discounted way into VR or in my case FREE they offer quite a lot for quite a low price at the moment.

How'd you get it free? Might explain the support ;-)

That's a fair comment. Though I think if you delve deeper, e.g. into user satisfaction and message boards you'll see a big difference in Rift users and Windows ones.

Thought I'd finish with a list of things that come to mind that are better on the Rift currently, and thus worth the current £58 difference. Some are subjective, but majority are factual:
Build:
- optics
- comfort
- audio quality / built in headphones
- controller (could be a whole section on these and for me, on of the biggest reasons why people should be buying a Rift over anything else currently)
- simplicity of adjusting for multi users/demoing (love showing other people, or giving the kids a go)
Software:
- Lots of free first party genuinely awesome content that comes with Rift and Touch purchase (this will more than off-set any saving on another headset. Robo Recall, Echo Area, Medium are just few of £100+ worth of free 1st party content)
- Best VR games running on native (and best) sdk (better performance and quality)
- runs same software better on lower spec systems
- Oculus Dash (I was playing Onward online last night with Netflix playing in a virtual window above me, at a hardware level :-)
- ATW, ASW (re-projection) and many other innovations and improvements result of Oculus continued investment in VR
- updates and communication
Value for money

There are of course, benefits on other systems, but none currently that as a Rift owner I'm jealous of. I look forward to Rift v2, but there are currently more problems to solve (e.g. foveated rendering) before the truly next gen headset will come out. Or a massive jump in GPU capabilities (not gunna happen). I expect Rift v1 to reign for a few years still.

NB: Rift and Touch cost me over £700 :-(

But very few people see any screen door effect when playing the Rift (because of the optics, which I mentioned :-P) and those that do also notice it the Windows headsets, so yes, this really is all but irrelevant currently. Please don't take my word for it, preferably go try one yourself or if unable, go view one of the many tested reviews (they have a dedicated VR podcast now too called Projections which is cool). You're not entirely wrong about software, but you're focused on only content, which is infinitely better on Rift currently but can be ran on Vive, but not nearly to the same level of performance. I meant software as a whole, performance, SDK, investment in developers, innovations with the GPU creators, constant updates and improvements it goes on!
