I have a set for the office, I am going to buy another set for keeping in the car for the gym etc.

Bought a pair a couple of months back, great pair of headphones for the money. Heat added.

I thought that not having a closing case would be a problem, but it's not. The magnets that keep the buds in place are pretty strong.

What's the call quality like on things like these? My Mrs says she can never hear me clearly when I'm on wired hands-free, with the mic right in front of my mouth...

Ended up ordering another pair (3rd one now) as my brother wants a set. At £12.87 it's a steal.

Yeah I have to say, the boxes them selves look like the tat one I got on eBay and the strap on the head brokr while putting on my normal sized head, never used it since, but would be good to watch 3d films using the movie hd app (y) (popcorn) (popcorn) ;) ;) ;)

Ah well there is the crux, you would need someone who does this kind of mobile 3 degrees of vr stuff, i only tried this tyoe of vr once with my Lumia 640 xl, which has a 720p screen and it was just horrible in everyway.

Yeah I know, but can you watch movies from your phone on a virtual cinema screen?

^^^It is just a empty box, you need to put a mobile phone inside, these type of so called vr are all similar, you always need to supply the phone. ;)

Can you use the headset to watch movies on a massive VR screen?

Thanks for the reply. They're a bit more than I'd like to spend plus my lad has an Xbox so I'm not sure they're compatible.

I've gone for the wireless Gold ones now. Kids + trailing wires is a recipe for disaster. They were £50 but have already outlived the cheaper ones.

@Danze1984 my 8yr olds gaming headset has broke and I need to get him a new one. I don't suppose you could suggest anything suitable for a child priced similar to these?

Great gaming gear.

Not even worth 20 quid. Both kids had these, both were broke within 3 months.

V1 or v2 ?

Super Hot does, there's a fair few that you can use pad or two controllers as well and I'd like to use controllers for Rush of Blood and so on as well... Plus the fact it doesn't come with even one, you'd be stuck for Fruit Ninja and god knows how many other games that are better with controllers as well... Its not the best marketing from Sony, pushing headsets but no controllers available anywhere.

Most games don't even need them, including a load of the best ones.

Great price and VR Worlds is fun but.... its almost getting to the point where the move controllers are going to cost more than the headset, £130 is about cheapest I can find for a set actually in stock anywhere....

Lightning deal plus £10 off with voucher. Collect voucher from this page: https://www.amazon.co.uk/vouchers-coupons/b?ie=UTF8&node=5522783031&tag=22

Before. I explained the coupon kept saying "connection failed" they basically told me that the coupon wasn't eligible for items not sold by Amazon but after a few back and forth they said they would £10 refund.

Did you contact them after you ordered or before?

once it will be shipped out I will process refund of GBP 10 from Amazon live chat

Coupon worked fine for me, I purchased as the deal went live. Although, I did already have the voucher claimed before this went live at 9:19am Also, the voucher is on the actual listing page so not sure how amazon could day it's not valid? PS - mine showing at this price as i have already claimed the lightening deal price

Same. Amazon are saying apparently coupons are for items sold by Amazon directly. Obviously that's not the case as pretty much every coupon are on items only fulfilled by them.

Thanks, not into "gamer" ones, so only asked, as wanted a big set for a gift, but not the silly £90+ ones, that look the same as your find, so ordered them, thanks (y)

I have literally no idea, there's probably no difference just that's an old deal maybe?

No, I was referring to the headphones not a case, just wondered why this one is more that is all (y)

If you're referring to the actual headset, there's a carrying case on Currys' website for £14.99 for this specific headset (confused)

Stealth SX-Elite Headset - £11 Instore @ Tesco
LocalLocalFound 16th MarFound 16th Mar
Stealth sx-elite headset £11 instore tesco they are £29.99 in argos.

Looks like it's rebranded, original ones is Akuma Nemesis. I had this very cheap headset for 4 years, was great. Mic quality was incredible which you can hear here, sometimes 100£ headsets sounds worst. Thinking to give a try just to see if they are the same. No, they are not the same (annoyed)

Rubbish had to return for replacement twice, the mic stopped working first time, second time the mic connector 3.5mm I think became so loose it just fell out after 2 weeks use, chucked in the bin.

They £29.99 in argos

Need store location as I doubt these are in every Tesco nationwide

They're shite mate, they're just a rebranded chinese brand. No way were these ever £29.99. Hardly worth £10.

No idea but this only shows that some reviews MAY or MAY NOT have been faked. I've got these and for less than £20 they are a bargain.

Always take reviews with a pinch of salt. If you have prime then there is no harm is trying them out. If it's not for you then you can always return them :)

These are good initially, but the microphone joint wore out on my lads version after a few months. I took it apart to try and fix it and the build quality inside is poor. The sliding metal part inside the headband had eventually cut through the plastic and sheered the microphone wires.

The cheapest steelseries are much better than these, my brother had these they broke, lent him my Arctis 3 when I was on Holiday and he now has the Arctis 3 as well.

That’s a far more specific and complex question, I’d only be guessing if I tried to answer.

I should've been clearer... For the sake of using headsets on Steam Link, Linux, etc. Do any of these devices actually do the surround virtualization internally (and present as a multi channel sound card to the host when plugged in) or do they all rely on software on the host to do it? I'm someone for whom most surround virtualization works really well (as do binaural recordings) so it would be great to have a gaming headset that does this built in (I almost never game at the PC itself, I usually stream to other things*.) I suspect the answer is no, at least none that are affordable. It gets on my nerves that these devices are advertised that way though. :( ___ * Steam streaming supports 5.1 as do most games, when gaming in the living room via streaming I've hacked DD support into the Linux box** so it can output true surround via SPDIF to a very ancient amp to give me quad surround for gaming via four full sized regular hifi speakers. ** A Zotac ZBox ID-18 mini form factor thing mentioned on HotUKDeals a few ago. It was very cheap but has an insane number of ports of various kinds, not to mention a CPU with integrated graphics that are totally disproportionate for power of the CPU. An amazing purchase, I'll be so sad we it finally konks out.

It's disingenuous to refer to any stereo headset as 7.1. It's simply not 7.1, it doesn't match the spec of 7.1 (7 speakers and 1 subwoofer). It's no different to any other stereo headset. Tack the term 7.1 on it and idiots will pay an extra £30. Whilst a decent price for these headphones they're still overpriced for what they are.

Indeed, true 7.1 headsets are too singular to be useful to most users - great for gaming, terrible for music.

Any stereo headset can do virtual surround sound. I'm aware of only 2 headsets that have multiple channels and drivers but this actually introduces other issues.

I kinda prefer the wired Bluetooth ones myself. Harder to lose, usually better battery and more compact earplug design as they can shove it all in the wired module. I never notice the wire so I'm reluctant to try the truly wireless ones. I see them going missing (horror)
