Was wondering if these were a good deal, and was a good headset, any help would be good, thank you

Any recommendations for headsets with a right sided mic?

Not having a go as such , as I can see you’ve only been around a few months. Rules have relaxed on posts while Covid has been around. This would probably come up as discussions otherwise Welcome to the group (highfive)

You could say this is a "kraken" deal...

And I've used Razer headsets for years with 0 issues. It's just (very) unlucky.

That's just incorrect, razer has never been recognised by audiophiles, hyperx has

Yeah I totally agree. PCVR using an HMD of any repute from the past couple of years will provide a fairly similar experience up to a point. The Index is twice the price of the Rift S but it provides nowhere near twice the experience. Perhaps nigh on 15% - 20% better of an experience if you include the finger tracking controllers, much higher refresh rate much larger FOV etc. As for immersion I guess the most sceptical VR user may struggle to get immersed in a Valve Index whereas I get fully immersed in even just Quest native games like Echo VR as I'm seriously into VR and extremely willing to take that leap via my imagination.

Well last Christmas you could get the rift s for £350 direct from Oculus. With the reverb being £600 all told £350 Vs £600 means they are in different brackets and will appeal to different markets. The reverb 2 price might affect index demand mind you. I have been thinking about updating my Lenovo explorer to one of the newer headsets but I saw an amazing review saying Lenovo explorer compared to index means 90% of the immersion for 25% of the price. Cheaper and lower spec doesn't necessarily mean poor quality, just lower quality.

A budget Valve Index with a lower refresh rate and standard Oculus Touch style controllers Twice the resolution of the Index though $599 "Doesn't have Lighthouse tracking, same gen 1 fov (114), stuck with WMR tracking, stuck with gen 1 wand-style controllers, is only 90hz. But BMR audio and really great clarity! Lots of compromises for this kit. It's better to buy an Index for the money."

The reverb announced walks over the Rift S in many ways, I would expect to see the Rift S get a more permanent price reduction as a result.

not sure why this is expired, it's still available to order from more than one of my local branches.

Just found these at Argos on clearance but not for delivery :( hope at least someone can find a nearby store stocking these! https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8687425

Bought xbox one s as "open - new". And it was "open - new" (y)

I bought the SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless from their clearance store - box was damaged but all the plastic wrapping had been untouched on the headphones themselves and looked like it had never been used. Guess I could've been lucky though!

I bought an open box msi laptop with codes from for nearly half price. I was concerned but It was literally open box but brand new. My only experience. At half price or 60 percent go for it but less than that I wouldnt bother.

Received and sent mine back as soon as I received it - a good few marks and not impressed by the refurbished status. The headphones also feels cheaply made (the latter not the sellers fault). Cheers

Good to know. Hopefully they'll still be around this price when I'm ready to get one :)

the kids have had psvr for years and we downloaded the Iron man demo which was great. also had a go of the heist and the shark descent game on the vr worlds disc which we all, enjoyed. we've got the wadjamicallits from the old Ps3 which helps though.

Is this something worth getting? ps5 around the corner, and all the vr stuff that's actually been interesting was pc based. Is psvr actually worth getting? I enjoyed ps move for about a month on the ps4, but that was substantially cheaper.

Either that or a fig of 8 lead, both are a couple of quid at the most.

I picked a set of these up off eBay never used beginning of lockdown. Great headset when you’ve got them and worn them in. The iPhone app for super amp is as bad as reviews say but once you get the hang of it then you won’t be bothered by it. Wouldnt spend £150 on then when you could get the Steelseries Artis Pro for about the same, that said I haven’t used them and I don’t see me replacing these for wireless anytime soon.

Brilliant (lol) (lol) (lol)

Same price on Amazon

Got this black Friday for £100. I thought it had stopped working and Amazon sent me another. Turns out was muted. I have one for my xbox and pc now. Good for £100 but £150 quite a lot of money

Anyone used these for Xbox one? Very very tempted....

Is the hyperx 7.1 surround though? Or does the Kraken Lite even have a volume control (really)?

Yeah me too plus many other sites with comparisons of the two. Seems HyperX comes top out of everyone's reviews of the two. I'll definitely stick to the HyperX

Thanks, would you recommend these over the arctis of a similar price, can't decide which ones to go for ?

Had my cloud 2 for about 3 years and they are still going perfect. I've used them actively for well over 3000 hours without any issues. Managed to pick them up for £60 at the time refurbished on eBay.

Shouldn't have to pay delivery on a small item like this when you're spending £499 IMO.

My bad. Title didn't have the delivery cost separate so assumed it was price of item. Still, it's not me who's voting cold.

Shows as RRP for me (£499).

Depends, some people are actually willing to lay a little more to get their hands on items. For this, especially considering the current climate when some are still adhering to the lockdown might not mind spending a few quid more to have a bit of fun. I just can't justify spending this much for VR which gets me sick.

RRP should not even be posted. This isn't a stock checking site, or at least it didn't used to be.
