Heads up for anyone wanting to buy this card, if Ebuyer doesn't change price by 10AM Friday morning they will run the APP20 sale which theoretically means this can be had for £412.32. Let's see... (edited)

    487.32 - 75 = 412.32 if no price inc.

At this price it is the best bang for buck 1440p card.

You can overclock and undervolt this to beat a 6950XT and a 7900GRE at stock and can get Timespy scores better than the latter (22000+ only 4000 behind a 7900XT or about 20% difference).

This card will last for at least 4 years or about 1 year into the PS6 before it needs upgrade (edited)

Nah, you can run this card for pretty much as long as you want if you tweak settings along the way so you don't "need" to upgrade for much longer. Hell I still had a 970 from 2015 til last November and it held up still really well, even at 1440.... Until I got to anything released since 2020 anyway but still

Son wants us to make a gaming PC. We need a graphics card, but not sure if this powerful - or this price. Anyone know best bang for buck that will play modern games at good quality with no lag?

And while I have your attention does anyone happen to have a list of components we might need to make one for around £750 - or less (we have keyboard, monitor and mouse)

uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/jk9pYN sure someone will chime in and tell us all how terrible this is.

If that 7800xt does get close to £400, definitely a significant upgrade over the 7700xt in this part list (edited)

It depends what you mean by modern games, if it needs to be the latest AAA titles, the level of detail and resolution (1080p vs 1440p).

If you prefer prebuilt, follow deals posted by user FairPriceSystems.

Hi The Magus, yeah probably. He really wants Helldivers 2. Bought it for our current laptop (2 yrs old) but it was just awful. Turns out our lappie has integrated graphics and can't be upgraded
