Main spec they're usable, but the storage will be almost full immediately, making even doing updates a chore. I wouldn't recommend anyone go with a 32gb phone in this day and age.

Well spotted . A good find. It's £52 for goodness sake, ideal as a spare. It was quite adequate for most in it's day. If you want all the bells and whistles of today's technology then dig deep in the wallet.

Still a rubbish spare for an adult, when for c.£85 you can double the ram and storage etc

It'll just be a pain to use on a night out or whenever you need a spare. (edited)

It seems like a good idea, but I'd only use a smartphone as a dashcam if I was going to remove it every time I was out of the car.

Leaving a smartphone in a windscreen is risk for a couple of reasons. A thief could break in to attempt to steal it, which is less likely of a standard dashcam. Also the large internal batteries in phones aren't designed to reach the temperatures of car interiors in the summer. Leaving one in a car window in the sunlight could cause it to catch fire, especially if high temps are reached over a number of days.

    Perfect phone for standard usage.

Phone calls, txts (yes they still exist), whatsapp, farcebook/twitter scrolling, etc.

Maybe not so for the heavy users or those who live via their phone.

Good price for a backup phone. Had to go back to a crack screen S9 while sending a phone away under warranty. This would have been better

I think the issue with this type of product is security updates, while great for a backup it's no good for keeping important things like banking apps or even your crypto wallet

Good price for a backup phone or a child, but I wouldn't want to go back to using something this low spec as my main phone daily.

Curious that I've just ordered a Redmi 6 pro on AliExpress with 4/64 specs. have you heard of this? That it is an A2 lite rebadge.

Yes, it is true indeed gsmarena.com/xia…php
Why did you go for a phone from 2018 though & only updatable to very outdated Android 10?
I remember buying the A1 from eGlobal back in 2018 on behalf of a friend & it served him well for 4 years.

anyone know if it could manage as a hotspot to tether to? assuming i put the correct sim in while on holiday
    Gregme's avatar
Yeah tethering works but the device you are tethering to would need a data sim.

Good buy if you’ve accidentally become addicted to the Tower Game (don’t google if you haven’t, save yourself).
