    Most of the ports are plain Gigabit: 8 x 10/100/1000 + 2 x 100/1000/2.5G + 2 x 1 Gigabit / 10 Gigabit SFP+ (uplink)

Good switch, I run a XGS1210-12 (web managed version of the XGS1010-12).

    Not had any issues with.
Pretty stable inc. running a 10Gb SFP+ uplink to my ASUS .11ax Router and bonding the 2 x 2.5GB ports to my Asustor NAS.

Read the SFP+ports can get very hot but I've not seen any thermal issues with mine. (edited)

Does that have any 10G or 2.5G? Doesn't look like it.

I know a 1Gb to 2.5Gb or 10Gb upgrade is on the horizon... problem is I have cat5e cabling in my home and I really am not looking forward to upgrading to cat6/7 or fibre. Does anyone have experience of 2.5 or 10gbps over cat5e? Is it viable? (edited)

I don’t think it’s possible. Only option is you cut each end point of the cable or cables and swap the solid green with the solid orange and crimp it again. So cat 5 is: orange/white, green, green/white, blue, blue/white, orange, white/brown then brown. You just swap the green with the orange and all others the same and you don’t need to rip out the cables. (edited)

Got 2 of these - run hot but ok. Be aware if you use vlans it doesn’t do ingress checking with the stock firmware - there is a microcode update. Bit disappointed with vendor - some initial lame response about this being a consumer switch. If you advertise a feature it should work not be half arsed
