Sky are updating the terms and conditions for our Broadband Speed and WiFi Guarantees and you could cancel your contract for free

Sky are updating the terms and conditions for our Speed and WiFi Guarantees and it makes things worse :/

Just had an email from Sky, which is shared below, and you the claims against the above have now been reduced, which is a bit crappy but as it's a change of terms, you can cancel, within 30 days of said email, for free, without any charges.

''Hi Dan_82

We're updating the terms and conditions for our Speed and WiFi Guarantees.

At Sky, we know that having reliable broadband is important so you can stay connected to everything you love. It's why we offer Speed and WiFi Guarantees. These are our promises to you that you'll get the best connection possible from us or money back.

We're always looking for ways to keep things simple and easy to understand so we've reviewed our guarantees and are making some changes to our terms and conditions.

Here's a summary of the changes.

These changes come into effect on 5 July 2023 and apply to Broadband Superfast 35, Superfast, Ultrafast, Ultrafast Plus, Gigafast & Sky Broadband Boost customers.

Speed Guarantee:

The number of times you can claim under our Speed Guarantee during your minimum term will be reduced from two to one. Money back will be one month's Broadband subscription (excluding Sky Talk and Sky Broadband Boost), minus any discounts or offers, credited to your Sky account.

WiFi Guarantee:

We are changing what you can claim under the WiFi Guarantee if you have Sky Broadband Boost. You will now be entitled to one month's Broadband subscription fee and one month's Broadband Boost subscription fee, minus any discounts or offers, credited to your Sky account. You will also be able to cancel your Broadband Boost subscription without paying early termination charges.

We hope you'll continue to enjoy our services but if you're not happy with these changes, you can cancel your Sky Broadband and Talk or Broadband Boost (as applicable). As you're within your minimum contract period, call us on 0333 7595 145 within 30 days of getting this notification to avoid early termination charges. Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky subscriptions will continue as usual.''
