Good deal here on one of the more iconic Omega range, the 42mm Speedmaster Moon Watch.
Watch comes with box and papers, brand new, from a very reputable watch dealer.
Has it been cheaper before? Most likely
Does anyone have a time machine? No
The OMEGA Speedmaster is one of OMEGA’s most iconic timepieces. Having been a part of all six lunar missions, the legendary Speedmaster is an impressive representation of the brand’s adventurous pioneering spirit.
This OMEGA Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” features a black dial covered by a hesalite crystal and graced by a small seconds sub-dial, 30-minute recorder and 12-hour recorder along with a central chronograph hand. The black bezel, with its tachymetric scale, is mounted on a 42 mm stainless steel case and presented on a black leather strap.

I'll still wait. Selling luxury Swiss watches in January is a difficult thing.
Last year I found the lowest prices around 10th-15th January. Really low. That was before face masks and eighteen mile tailbacks. I'm not saying prices will come down, I'm just patiently waiting to see. I do think 2021 will see a big reduction in the sale of goods that are luxury and expensive. The financial impact of this year hasn't fully hit yet.
I have such skinny wrists anything over 40mm (even that’s a bit of a push) looks ridiculous!
I’d be surprised, most places are finding it hard to get any stock at the moment. Seems people are treating themselves to something nice as they have some extra cash from not going out and on holidays
My 38mm Speedmaster FI special Schumacher edition (with date) was just £1100 - albeit that was 18 years ago. A service cost over £500 though. It's madness but I love it: worn every day, not 'curated' in a collection somewhere. (edited)
When do you think the sales will start (Boxing day, New year, etc..)?
I bought mine on a bracelet for £1250, albeit 2nd hand, about 4/5 years ago. Prices have gone mad
Father in law who just bought an omega. I didn't think it sounded right so just wanted to check.
They never stop these days.
If you want one of these and aren’t bothered about the new master chronometer movement then I would jump on this!! Maybe you’ll save a couple hundred quid in the new year or maybe they’ll all be gone and you’ll be finding an extra £2k for one
The GMT is a superb watch. I looked at the Pelagos, but fell for the GMT. I believe the bracelet on the Pelagos is a work of art.
I agree, you’re preaching to the choir
January sales may see even further sales. May..
Some do, some don’t, it really depends on the model, if it gets discontinued, if it’s hard to get hold of etc etc.
Why's that? Just preference?
I'm same as you I dont particularly like the leather strap, but if you read the description I think it does actually come with another strap or 2. Nato and velcro, unless I've got that wrong
good price for a nice watch and best I can see (im looking for one of these for myself on a bracelet at the moment)
but as they have been discontinued and they don't have them in stock don't be suprised if they turn round and cancel the order if they find they couldn't order one in
Tudor, Rolex and Omega being the more common higher end brands hold their value well, Rolex the best. Don't buy a Breitling expecting it to hold its value, they don't. TAG drop a bit as well.
I know I own all of them. The Breitling was a heart over head purchase. Should have bought another Rolex. But you live and learn.
Can't justify buying it but great all the same.
Thanks for posting
Tudor are also worth considering.
