Tempted as an investment purchase but the fact its completely dependent on the app to function (meaning its pretty useless in 10 years time) is putting me off...... (edited)

You know what, you genuinely have given me something to think about there. …You know what, you genuinely have given me something to think about there. Never even crossed my mind that this could (likely will) be an issue. Wanted this for the MOC Johnny 5/short circuit build too.

I've bought it anyway as I may just end up building it myself but I fear this set will probably end up as an expensive paper weight once the app stops working on devices in the future.

Thought I got a bargain at £230 something with Amazon Kids Wish List earlier in the year. Apparently not Excellent price, if Amazon price match and anyone has KWL discount it'll be below £200?

Do you have to leave in kids wish list for at least 24 hours before applying the discount?

Its for these reasons i hope Lego goes with the bluetooth remotes in future. Mobile apps are fine until a bug or lack of support kills it. Thanks for the reply and enjoy the build if you do end up doing it yourself.
