Good Solid Low level Jack had one for years.
Also worth getting a rubber Jack Pad for the lifting cup helps stop and scratching of the underbody sealant.

A two Tonne lifting capacity is okay but I hate the small lifting point (saddle) they have.

Thanks OP. For a low profile jack this is a good price. Normal jacks don't fit under lots of cars. Having said that it is worth checking the ride height, as some jacks don't extend high enough for some models of cars.

Rival SGS sell one for £36, but they are waiting for stock (from China)?

Either needs bleeding or the hydraulic fluid has leaked. Possibly not that unlikely if it's years old.

I soldiered on with this jack for a couple of years but finally caved and spent the £120+ on the Halfords Advanced 2 Tonne low profile. Worth every penny and actually lifts the car high enough to get it onto stands.

    How are these rated?

It says 2 tonne, is that the car weight or the weight the jack can support?

I have this exact one and tried to jack my disco 4 and it bent the hell out of it.

It’s total downward force limit. So as long as you don’t try lifting an HGV, you’ll be fine with anything up to about 3.5T.

Sounds like you had a very cheap jack or a false advertising one. (edited)

Had one of these for a few years, great little jack for the price, couldn't get a normal profile jack under my front bumper or sills.
Easily lifts the front 2 wheels or rear 2 wheels off the ground on my 3 series (with a block), with plenty of room to get a set of axle stands on each side.

You need a farm jack really, especially if you are going off road. We had to buy one for our Series 2a after popping a tyre only to realise the trolley jack I had onboard was useless in this situation.

An embarrassing and difficult lesson was learned. Luckily, and for once sensibly, we were one if three in the convoy and both other Landys had HiLift jack's.

Just don't buy a cheap copy as they are really dangerous!

I have this jack and it goes under my car even with a jack pad. Really happy with it, have rotated tyres no problem using this and a standard jack (once the low jack gets the car high enough) to get one side completely off the floor

Question for anyone in the know, I've been eyeing up this Jack from Costco which is alot more expensive. The lifting capacity is slightly more and from the numbers ont he site it goes a bit higher, but doesn't get as low as this Halfords ones. Is the Costco one just a higher quality product or is there something else I'm missing as a reason for the extra cost? costco.co.uk/Tyr…854

Done the same thing. I already have one of these but last week I had a job to do on the car and 2 Jack's would have been much easier to then put stands under and leaving the jacks up aswell. For £30 I might aswell take another as a backup. (edited)

Hockey Pucks are great to sit in the cup and protect your chassis. Cut a groove in one and it can be used as a side lift for cars that have the reinforcing on the sills

Halfords dont show the weight of jack - only tons it can lift. They dont give you dimensions either. I was deciding between this and the 2 ton advanced one (I already have the 2.25 Ton speedy lift advanced jack but is 14cm min Hight & dont fit under my car). I purchased this for £29.99 and see how it goes, if not get the advanced 2 ton 7cm min hight.
