Rubber Jack Pad
Rival SGS sell one for £36, but they are waiting for stock (from China)?
As to:
"The compact Halfords 2 Tonne Low Profile Hydraulic Trolley Jack is perfect to store in your boot for emergency situations such as a flat tyre"
Or perfect to be nicked , as happened to my jack and lots of tools. Never leave anything of value in your car nowadays! (edited)
That sucks.
Either needs bleeding or the hydraulic fluid has leaked. Possibly not that unlikely if it's years old.
I soldiered on with this jack for a couple of years but finally caved and spent the £120+ on the Halfords Advanced 2 Tonne low profile. Worth every penny and actually lifts the car high enough to get it onto stands.
You might find the seals have gone. I asked how to fix it on the MR2 group and the view was to live with it or junk it, though here another reply that said they fixed it
I bought the halfords 3 ton one recently & it didn't take a lot of abuse before it buckled, seems you have to spend a bit more if you want durable.
Great idea, thanks for that!
How many floors does it need to cover?

Decent prices, especially with the club voucher!
Someone smashed the window?
It says 2 tonne, is that the car weight or the weight the jack can support?
I have this exact one and tried to jack my disco 4 and it bent the hell out of it.
I assumed one corner of the car was sub 2 tonne
It’s total downward force limit. So as long as you don’t try lifting an HGV, you’ll be fine with anything up to about 3.5T.
Sounds like you had a very cheap jack or a false advertising one. (edited)
It was the exact Jack in this deal
Easily lifts the front 2 wheels or rear 2 wheels off the ground on my 3 series (with a block), with plenty of room to get a set of axle stands on each side.
You need a farm jack really, especially if you are going off road. We had to buy one for our Series 2a after popping a tyre only to realise the trolley jack I had onboard was useless in this situation.
An embarrassing and difficult lesson was learned. Luckily, and for once sensibly, we were one if three in the convoy and both other Landys had HiLift jack's.
Just don't buy a cheap copy as they are really dangerous!
Thanks for that, I would never have thought of changing the oil. It's a good quality one, I only use it for changing tires and oil change so it's rarely used. I'll change the oil and save some money. Cheers.
There must be a place that refurbs the seals
How can you tell if the seals have gone? Is there a tell tail sign or a way to test them?
Did they email the voucher to you? I have signed up but I haven't received a voucher and no discount is being applied at checkout.
Done the same thing. I already have one of these but last week I had a job to do on the car and 2 Jack's would have been much easier to then put stands under and leaving the jacks up aswell. For £30 I might aswell take another as a backup. (edited)
Put simply, is there a puddle/stai of hydraulic fluid on your garage floor?
It's too good an offer not to.
As I remember, there was an option on the checkout page to apply the voucher for that particular purchase.
Yes a little toggle switch thing to apply the voucher
Agreed (edited)
Just emailed customer services and it can't be used with a trade account. Trade discount is only £5 though so the motoring membership isn't worth having. I thought for a minute that Halfords were being competitive lol (edited)
Not often you get a tenner for free nowadays
Buy the jacking pad to fit this before you start lifting!

Agreed, superb jack, every bit as good as the Snap-On overpriced stuff. Not the fastest lifter but by far the best quality for the money. (edited)
Hi, can you tell us the weight and length difference between them. Thanks
Should both be listed on the Halfords site mate inc the lifting specs. The Advanced one is significantly bigger and as a result a lot more stable
Halfords dont show the weight of jack - only tons it can lift. They dont give you dimensions either. I was deciding between this and the 2 ton advanced one (I already have the 2.25 Ton speedy lift advanced jack but is 14cm min Hight & dont fit under my car). I purchased this for £29.99 and see how it goes, if not get the advanced 2 ton 7cm min hight.
