10 year guarantee Seems to be £30+ at Amazon and Argos for this model

Combination alarm designed to provide protection from both smoke and CO in a single unit. As well as the audible alarm, it has a voice warning that tells you which danger has been detected. Voice warnings are particularly important as the combination of a high pitch alarm combined with a low pitch voice warning is more likely to wake up children. Front-loading battery compartment for ease and the alarm has an end of life warning.

This product is two products in one, being both a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide alarm.

This product is BSI certified to EN50291-1:2010 and EN14604:2005, CE tested, and is fully tested before leaving the factory.

  • Hush button operation.
  • Test button operation.
  • 10 year sensor life.
  • Batteries required: 1 x 9V (included) .
  • Size H14.5, W14.5, D85cm.
  • Weight 0.32kg.
  • Manufacturer's 10 year guarantee.

I fitted one of these for my elderly Mum a few years back.

Hearing the voice warning of low battery in the middle of the night nearly gave the old dear a heart attack as she thought someone had broken into the house!

How is the stock level usually for warehouse offer? I'm planning to ask a friend to buy two on my behalf. It's just a matter of when she's available before it is out of stock.

Normally very well stocked. I don't think I've ever failed to secure a Costco special deal even towards the end of the offer period.

Voice notification? "Ecuse me, wake up as ya house is on fire".

    Heat added (pun intended)

It's so you can tell if it's a fire or carbon monoxide detected. But it has been proven in some tests, it may be more effective for children to hear a voice warning as an alert, as they are not conditioned to waking for alarm clocks, etc. But are normally woken by a parents voice.

These don't meet the nanny state requirements in Scotland as not interlinked.

While I understand the rationale of interlinking in larger houses it seems overkill in small 1 or 2 bedroom properties.

Perfect timing. We had 2 installed by Fire Service nearly 10 years ago. Both died recently so looking at replacements.

    Cheers OP

Mine failed after 6 years. Got same replacement.
Trained dog to various alarms ie kitchen timers he lets her know. Phone beeps etc.
This thing he doesn't care less about either alarm or voice.

Is this the twin pack Costco sell in-store ?

No, this is a single unit that detects both carbon dioxide and monoxide.

I know which twin pack you mean though as I've seen them stocked when I've been in my local, different product though

I went to get this today. Just so you are aware, the Costco at Thurrock has no stock. The nearest store with stock was at Chingford.
