Is the AI worth it for extra £400 (for 2A/2C), what’s the drinks pricing like?

Also guessing balcony isn’t much use at this time of year? Well perhaps for bigger windows.

Also since outside pools will be in useable, does anyone have experience of inside pool. Is it very busy, etc. Warm, big???? As I imagine kids would likely spend quite a bit of time in there.

The drinks package is one of the best ones I’ve ever had on a cruise.
Premium brands and plenty of choice.
Beer was around €6.00, cocktails €8 to €15, champagne up to €30 per glass. The package we had included all drinks, not sure if this one limits which drinks you can have. The Robot bar isn’t included on any of the packages.
The pools are salt water on MSC, but the indoor pool is heated. Didn’t seem to get overly busy as there are plenty of other activities to do onboard. MSC food isn’t amazing, the buffet is better than the main dining room and the pizza is excellent (being an Italian ship). For the price I’d recommend it.

Actually I have a question about cruises. I am single and would probably go on my own. Are cruises suited to solo travellers? Or are there certain types of cruises that are more suited to solo travellers?
    JamesDoh1980's avatar
    JamesDoh1980
    Yes. I’d recommend cruising solo.
I’ve never been on a solo cruise, however I have young children and they’re usually in bed by 8:30pm, and my wife stays in the cabin, so I go out on my own around the ship.
The ship also advertises solo meet ups so people can get to know each other.
There are plenty of bars, nightclub, entertainment etc that if you don’t want to interact with anyone you don’t have to.
I think MSC also sit other solo passengers together in the main dining room, but you don’t have to eat there, plenty of other options.

If anyone wants anything checked out for their cruise or photos of anything particular let me know, I won't have anything else to do when I'm not in the Thermal spa or their 'emotional shower' (What the hell is that ), other than be eating, drinking, watching shows and enjoying the gym

    Edit:
Sorry I meant Gin not gym

Not going ashore no interest, ship is better than anything a shore and only got a week! Spoke to guest relations and tomorrow seeing if I can extend mine another week They said easier than booking another. I’m SO clean after spending 7hrs a day in the Spa the steward can’t understand why I’ve not used the bathroom, I use all facilities in the luxury spa

Anyone else had a phone call this evening from MSC Cruise Concierge in the USA asking if there was any assistance required with their cruise preparations or boarding and did I have any questions, and if I did while talking emailed me a direct number to call if I had any issues or requests, caught me a bit on the hop as I had no idea what to ask for

Oh well one more sleep before the fun starts, still not heard if I got upgraded to the Yacht Club level as still shows 'pending', not fussed really as I think I will prefer the bigger deluxe balcony room with large sofa.

Just got to pack now, won't take long, not taking a lot, it's only a week

Just to let you know, if you have had a few drinks and on the way back to your cabin and see a naked man walking around like a zombie and wonder what was in your cocktails then don’t hesitate to call reception and let them know

I found a naked man and didn’t know if he was going to jump off the ship 😳. I didn’t know what I should do but would have felt guilty if he had jumped so called reception, I admitted I had had a few cocktails and told them what I had seen, within 2 minutes or so they had tracked him on CCTV and got hold of him, he was sleep walking and thought he had walked into his toilet but opened the cabin door by mistake and it slammed shut, but he continued with his sleep walk 😳.

Anyway today I got a nice thank you from the captain for saving a potential incident, I can assure you I have more than enough to drink on my premium drinks package but it was the thought that counts So if your not on a drinks package it’s perhaps worth wondering the corridors at night you never know what you might find

Varies anything from £15pppd to £35pppd

For this date I saw £170(£24.29pppd) with the discount.

Loads of dates at sensible prices.

For families of 3/4 the ocean view with extra bunk beds are worth considering.

Early on the YC insides(same size as a regular inside) were around £800-£1k pp.

YC is fantastic area and can be great value.
Outside not much use winter but the bar/lounge and restaurant a notch above.
Handy retreat on a packed ship.

Same dress as the rest of the ship is acceptable.

What would one expect to pay during school holidays for a 7 night cruise from Southampton? Easter, summer holiday etc. 2 adults 2 kids. Likely to be under £1,500 Inc drinks package?
    getmore4less's avatar
    getmore4less
Some school holiday trips have been similar price range check 1/2 terms.

The ship gets a lot closer to it's max passenger of 6,300.

We did one with £1,500 kids, everywhere very busy, there were also quite a few rough kids that caused a few issues.

The indoor sports court area is very popular and loads of activities for kids.

If you want to do any added cost item book before as the prices go up on the ship.

Best value special is the Mexican.
We did the full 4meal +show package last time.
Sushi not great, indochine good steak fantastic.
The 2 paid shows are really good book at least one of those.

You have to request the voyager discount via messages after booking.

They say it could take weeks but was relatively quick, I had to check the CC account there was no messages to say it had been done.
