What's Pestani Like?
Halfway down the eastern side of Lake Ohrid, the village of Peštani is a quiet spot with a chilled-out vibe. Pebble beaches line the shore, and there are a few hotels and restaurants too. Spend your days soaking up the sun on the beach, swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the lake and chatting with the friendly locals. It's easy to explore from here too, the national park is just behind you and there are signs with big maps pointing out the different trails you can take through the forest.

Breakfast
When it comes to breakfast, the hotel's got you covered with a Continental buffet. Your other meals aren't included, but there are a few traditional kafeanas (tavernas) nearby serving up a great range of food, from local specialties to international favourites.

About the Hotel
In a peaceful spot on the lake, the Villa Nika's got great views of the lake and surrounding national park.

The family-run Villa Nika is located in the quiet village of Peštani, a former fishing village on the eastern side of Lake Ohrid. You've got the lake right on your doorstep, just across the road from the hotel, and the pine forests of the Galičica national park just behind. It's conveniently located a 15-minute taxi ride from the centre of Ohrid, and it's just a 5-minute drive in the other direction to the popular Bay of Bones museum too.

For 2023, holidays here come with our Hotel rep and 24/7 Online service. This means that an English-speaking TUI rep will visit your accommodation during your stay, and info and support are available 24/7 via the TUI app.

Villa Nika doesn't have a lift.

Some double rooms have a more modern décor than others, we cannot guarantee which style of room you'll be allocated.

Just so you know, a tourist tax is payable locally in cash. This will be approximately €1 per person, per night.

Don't know about this place, but I’ve just been staying at the lapidarium apartments in old town Ohrid for a few days and it was 40 euros per night. The weather has been 30-40 degrees every day and there are some great boat cruises over the lake, also many churches and monasteries to visit.
    a few things to note:
    1. North Macedonia uses the Denar as their local currency and a lot of exchanges in Britain dont have this so its best to take pounds in cash and exchange locally. The rate is 60-70 to the pound
    2. Most toilets out in North Macedonia dont have good enough plumbing so as with other southern european destinations, loo roll goes in the bin
    3. You will need to sign in to local police station upon arrival and sign out before leaving
    4. Bus transfers between the big cities is possible but you should get your tickets beforehand at the local bus stations, otherwise there are taxi available
    5. Plug sockets are the euro 2 pin adaptor
    6. Bring sunscreen and try to keep out of the sun at midday as it gets very hot in North Macedonia.
    7. No BBC coverage in this area so you have to get news from sky news or American international sites (edited)

Looks nice, but 2 weeks? It's not exactly a vibrant community, I'd suggest hiring a car and planning some day trips.

Manchester great for me in SW Scotland 2. hrs train right to airport station, theres always holiday makers from Glasgow Edinburgh where TP Express train starts.

It can almost be quicker/ easier than crossing the M8 Glasgow depending on time
