O2 🤮🤮 worst connection I've ever had and that's in nw London. Couldn't even download an app from store.

What makes it worse is I cancelled in 10 days , so no charge .

Or so I thought. Credit rating was taking a hit for some reason, checked clear score and turns out the idiot customer service guy didn't do his job correctly so I had a 100 quid worth of bills unpaid and a default on my account. Absolute idiots.

Just managed to get credit correction sorted after o2 admitted fault. Be careful with these cowboys. (edited)

To be fair I’ve tried 3, 02, Vodafone and ee. they all have dead spots, in London.

Any benefit of having this if I'm planning to go with VM broadband soon? meaning will having this provide any discounts when taking out broadband with them?

If this is an O2 sim (which it says it is) then you get VOLT benefits, next level up on broadband e.g. m250 becomes m350. Also you should get double data on the SIM once registered.

Virgin mobiles site says that they used to, but they had so many problems that they withdrew them from general sale. They do say that you can contact customer services for one, but whether or not you'll actually get one is debatable, seeing as it all being handed over to 02

Don't do it. O2 network is terrible and so slow, cannot wait to leave them

Best network in my area! With three and EE I have to go outside to make a call. Best for everyone to do the mobile signal in your area check.

I thought this was going to be £2 per month for first 3 months but turns out £4 is the already discounted price. Still a decent deal but not what I thought I was clicking on (Lebara have spoiled me as without their deals I probably wouldn't have jumped to this conclusion!)

If the link did work remember you will stop being a Virgin customer and become an O2 one shortly

From a customer Service point of view that is a GREAT Thing, Virgin are the worst company i have ever dealt with. What would the the difference apart from that?

They’re not really that much better than Lyca (or any other MVNO on O2). I just went from this exact deal back to a 1p Lyca sim, because I could not justify paying 400x for the same crappy O2 speeds, even on 5G. If I am to endure O2, I might as well do it while paying a literal penny. (edited)

New to the UK & looking for a sim contract. This looks like a great deal, right? I’m Irish and will be going home regularly so the roaming is a must.
if anyone thinks otherwise or has a better recommendation please share!

Increases by 13.4%-17.3% from April? virginmedia.com/mob…ase. Is it better to wait until 1st April before getting a new sim to avoid the price increases?

    mlb71
In the legal section when taking out the sim, it says ‘RPI adjustments: Each April from 2024 your airtime plan will increase by the Retail Price Index…’ - so my understanding is this won’t be impacted by this years increase

As an existing mobile customer I can get this tariff for £22.67 a month, anyone tried to get them to honour this price for existing customers?

Not a bad deal if it works. Probably good for people to trial the service too. I changed to o2 a few months ago and wow it's horrible, 4/5 bars everywhere but I can run hundreds of speed test before one actually connects long enough to give a result, even then 0.03 or 0.02 doesn't give one much confidence. The 5g Areas tend to do much better BUT I do get kicked off of 5g quite a bit. They have 2 mast (across the street from each other!) that I can see from outside my window....

Beware. MVNOs have poor roaming deals - usually 3G only and as 3G is now switched off in many EU countries you literally get no data. Also check if Switzerland is included in the RLAH deal to avoid massive bill if around there.

I had 4G roaming all summer in France on Lebara, max 30GB a month. What's poor about that compared with the main network? Can you give an example of a better roaming deal?

Virgin media website only shows £8 per month and there is no mention of first three months half price.

You need to tick the YES or NO box to state if already a VIRGIN MEDIA customer. Then, the "Grab this offer" box activates in RED and proceeds to the next page which will show "YOUR PLAN" and state "50 off 3 Month Discount" and "-£4 a month". Ensure the BLUE TICK BOX is active to get the discount, then click the RED CONTINUE TO BASKET BOX.

Virgin Media's customer service became worst than what it was before. In my experience they are the worst broadband provider at present.

Can't get the deal as the stupid virgin media site thinks I'm an existing customer and changes the deal from £4 to £10 per month. Spoken to Virgin but they can't seem to figure out the problem......grrrr (edited)

May be a stupid question but if you have a 5G sim but your phone doesn’t have 5G does it work for everything else? I realise I wouldn’t get 5G which is fine, currently with Sky mobile & price has gone up, Virgin deals are better; more data for same money I was paying - both use O2’s network so guessing signal will be about the same? Both support Wi-fi calling, existing Virgin media customer & generally on Wi-Fi all day so why pay Sky more, just wanna be sure about the 5G sim?

Virgin 02 is shocking in Birmingham, moving as soon as a better 30 day rolling contract is available on another network. Been with virgin mobile for like 9 years.

What's O2's 5g like in the North West, and the Midlands? According to their signal checker it's basically non-existant.

O2 in west midlands is beyond awful, switched to them for volt benefits and VM and phone is near useless when out and about unless on WiFi. luckily I try to limit my time out and about
