It should be noted that LG's G-series TVs are designed for wall mounting, and come with a wall mounting kit in the box.
If you want to stand it on a TV bench, the official stand is a £100 optional item.

What’s the screen burn policy? I know John Lewis it’s an extra £150 cover

Not sure Richer Sounds offer a burn in policy?

Also worth considering the difference in warranty terms if something goes wrong

John Lewis 5 year Policy johnlewis.com/cus…lTv

If we can't repair your TV, we'll replace it with a TV of equivalent specification. If no equivalent product is available, we'll either offer you the nearest equivalent specification or its selling price value, and we'll always do our best to make sure you're satisfied with the outcome.

Richer Sounds 6 Year Policy (and it's states only a suggestion)! customerservice.richersounds.com/hc/…ts-

Current value will be calculated taking into consideration the age, usage, condition and packaging of the product. If the item is in perfect condition with all packaging as new, having had reasonable use we suggest the value as follows:

    *Usage scale:

During year One – full value
During year 2 – Original retail less 20%
During year 3 – Original retail less 30%
During year 4 – Original retail less 40%
During year 5 – Original retail less 50%
During year 6 - Original retail less 60%

My understanding this LG Oled come with a 1 year Manufacturers warranty and a 5 Year Panel Warranty (excl parts and labour) so if something goes wrong with the internals after the first year you'll be dealing with the retailer not the manufacturer firstly for the remaining period of the warranty (edited)

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but is the principle that the higher the letter, the better the TV?

E.g. This would be better than the C2 for example?

They are both nearly identical TVs with G2 being a bit brighter and has a heatsink. Although I don't mean to alarm anyone but there are reports of the heatsink causing coil whine.

Also due to the lack of a stand on the G2 I would save £300-400 and get the C2 when it hits the £1300-1400 price point at JL/RS. (edited)

Sound bar is worth about £300 on ebay... £1700 for the tv? seems like a good price

Got these for £50 quid more from Richer Sounds only yesterday. T&Cs say they price match within 14 days but not for items purchased on finance. Not sure whether this is coming down even further in the next few weeks…

I’ve got the G1 55 inch and loving it , from what I know the G model covers screen burn while C model doesn’t. Was unsure if to get C1 or G1 so in the end when with the gallery but I did buy the stand as if I wall mount and if change tv around the room will be left with holes 🕳 got my TV from Richard sound as well because of the 6 year warranty. Got mine from Liverpool, the staff have been helpful.

Holes...HOLES, don't talk to me about holes.

My FRESHLY plugged (multiple holes) freshly plastered wall now has 4 freshly drilled holes, where my recently moved...recently DIED Plasma was put up.

All this talk of screen burn is an eye opener, I thought that was down to us, if (for example) the set was used as a PC Monitor. I've got this 50" Sony set to screen save in 5 minutes, but now I'm thinking that's not enough

Not oled related but bought A Sony KD55XH9095 2 years ago from richer sounds and have screen darkening issues... Richer sounds did nothing other to pass it on to Sony support which have offered me an inferior Tv 55 X94K which I don't have a choice because they wouldn't offer me an alternative even if I paid the difference!! So it's not just John Lewis that hasn't provided suitable customer service.
Also by having to take this replacement I lose the extra 1 year warranty which was the main reason why I purchased from RS.. So will have 3 years warranty on the new TV.... I won't even mention that Sony were trying to get me to accept a refurb as the replacement!.. Whoops I guess I just did.. (edited)

Got the C2 for £1376 and its stunning. Seems a little steep for nothing notable that my eyes would be able to see. Still probably a stunning TV also.

    Hi all,
I'm tempted by this, any reviews on the sound bar or any validation if its any good?

Any other recommendations for a 65 at this time, ideally oled but would take led variant.

    Thanks (edited)
