Precise Height Adjustments
The self-locking ratchet on each jack stand provides precise height adjustments with each click, making it easy to set both stands to the same height. Use a floor jack (not included) to lift the vehicle and lower it onto the jack stands. Each jack stand provides a large, U-shaped, contact area, which helps ensure stability for the supported load.

Heavy-Duty Steel Frame
Suitable for outdoor use, the pair of AmazonBasics jack stands features a durable steel frame with a rustproof coating. The AmazonBasics jack stands give home mechanics and general DIYers the security and stability they need to get the job done.

I have the Hilka version of these, look pretty much identical. I don't think you could accidentally release the mechanism if the weight of a car is on it as mine would literally need a hammer but I do not know in current times with heavy cars that I would want a stand that is only rated at 1Tonne (each).
It may seem obvious that you have 4 corners on a car so don't need a massive stand but because of where the jacking points are on cars you will often find you have half the cars weight on one stand at a time (for reference a Volvo XC90 is 2.7T).

Note that the Bacho 1.5T (each) stands with locking pin are also reduced (£40) and would be a better item if budget can stretch.
    Bahco stand.

Has 2 tonne capacity written on each stand.
Why not just label it 1 tonne capacity instead of 2 tonne when used together?

Fair few negative reviews on these noting that the safety can be easily triggered, and that the welds are poor quality. I'd go for a trusted brand for jack stands - treat them like brakes and tyres and don't go too cheap.

Do yourself a favour and buy decent ones, especially for a ratchet model.

I've seen a decent ratchet set fail before so I wouldn't ever even use them.

Be careful folks. There is no locking mechanism other than the handle. If you are getting under the car you need to have it so you have some form of locking, else can be hazardous to ones health. See below for an example with the locking in the base.

Weight of the car makes the lever solid and if this type of axle stand is dangerous as you are sort of applying, i'm sure it would of been banned many moons ago.

40% off the price, and 19% off the capability it is sold as being good for
