Just to keep in mind, the company is based in Pakistan and does not allow public audits as per ProPrivacy.com

below are issues especially for VPN

    • Trackers present on a website
    • Customer support can struggle with technical questions
    • No public audit

It doesn't have servers in Pakistan (which I'd like) but does in Afghanistan??? Crazy.

49941289-uxDuv.jpgjust to note yes there is a killswitch and split tunnelling on windows, split tunneling is "include" so you need to browse and go through each app and add it one at a time (tedius). vpn unlimited however dont have split tunneling yet on windows and with vpn unlimited's killswitch on, unlike with ivacy, you cant access LAN.

I forked out for ivacy after talking to support as i wasnt happy not being able to access my nas storage or chromecast with the killswitch on with vpn unlimited, still the best experience ive had on windows is with windscribe which has been flawless since version 2.0 of the app and i still use the free 50gb/month sometimes just for a painless experience

it includes the protocols tcp, udp, l2tp, ikev2 and wireguard

if anyone wants the downpoints that ive found using the windows app, for one it doesnt show the ip address of the server that youre using, so you have to find that elsewhere, it sometimes has connection issues with killswitch on where after 30seconds in most cases, it'll disconnect and then the reconnect afterwards is fine although ive found that it changes server to one of texas or romania sometimes when it does that

also the menu items arent necessary, smart connect and secure download are the same servers, i believe you cant choose a streaming server whilst keeping split tunneling on either

oh and it blocks ports by default, if you want port forwarding you need to log into the site and go to account and choose the addons tab and either enable port forwarding or type the ports you want to allow port forwarding with

ive been using it since february but so far so good, some issues with qbit udp trackers if i select any port over 1000 but under that and udp works, no idea why thats a thing even with port forwarding enabled but there we go

Is this the new VPN unlimited?

Looking at the app reviews, not great reviews I'm afraid.

I bought this last night, its a bit rubbish tbh,

Turkey servers don't work with netflix on Mac and Windows detects the windows app as a virus when you download it. (edited)

How ABT other server for Netflix
  5. proevo21's avatar
Does anyone know if they do a free trial ? Even if it's just for a day .. I'd like to see how well it works for what I need it for. BBC, Netflix mainly.
    Thanks in advance

Free version on Google Play Store probably with ads. Don't take too much notice of negative reviews. Ivacy is a good VPN going back quite some time. Hope that helps.

How good is it compared to surf shark VPN?
    Gort1951's avatar
Surf Shark and Nord merged making them the biggest VPN.
Servers are RAM based rather than Drives and 10Gb/s Server Connections.

Their Security is constantly tested. Unlimited Device connections.

You pay for top quality features like Torrent support.

I would give this a miss and go with one of the decent, well-known VPNs with cashback. I got a cheap lifetime VPN from StackSocial after my Windscribe deal ended and it's been problematic and/or slow - there is no incentive to give good support or performance if you pay lifetime.

I got PIA VPN with big cashback and it was money well-spent, always works, reliable, fast, etc. I won't bother cutting corners again. Same with Express, Nord, Mullvad, etc. Windscribe are also good but don't seem to do deals now.
    thebat1980's avatar
    How much is PIA generally?
  8. mpea999's avatar
TopCashBack are currently doing 104% cashback on Private internet access (PIA) on a 2 year deal with others on around 100% via tcb also.
    mpea999's avatar
I'm no mathematician but I reckon it could be that I paid £43.94 for 2 years sub & it's tracking back after a few hours at £45.82 so it's paying me all the money I've paid for the sub +4%

Are VPN Unlimited and Ivacy completely separate entities now?
    Kestrelv2's avatar
They were never the same entitity.
  10. Tommy.123's avatar
That's nice and all... but where is the company based?
    zerbirus's avatar
singapore and they dont keep logs

Just noticed BulletVPN is on offer too. Slightly more. I have both Ivacy and Bullet and prefer BulletVPN. (edited)
    zerbirus's avatar
How much is bullet? I chose ivacy over it purely on speed of customer service getting back to me before purchase

How's its split tunneling on Windows?

Reading reviews it seems to have the same reconnect issues as ivacy and lack of port forwarding (edited)

Got Ivacy lifetime and windscribe lifetime over 5 years ago from stacksocial.

Ivacy expired after 5 years and a simple email with proof of purchase to support and they put my account back on Pro with no end date.

Great VPN service, fast and reliable speed.

Bought, thank you. Paid for 5 devices but in Ivacy account overview it says 10 devices...

anyone using it via phone app?? Want to know how good it is for netflix (buying cheap one from Turkey etc). Anyone could confirm does it have Indian, Turkey, Brasil serves to use? 😁 Thanks!! (edited)
    zerbirus's avatar
turkey yes, fine for microsoft redeem codes requiring a vpn
    brazil yes
india ( v ), no idea what that means but a few servers have it
  16. Zaphod9642's avatar
Been using this for 3 years without any problems
    zerbirus's avatar
the only issues i have are on windows with the killswitch on it doesnt automatically reconnect
most of the time i connect but it doesnt allow traffic and then disconnects after 30-45seconds and then and only then does an auto reconnect timer count down
and if your internet drops for a while it stays "connected" but you cant reconnect (obviously) but it gets stuck trying to connect and when you stop it cpu usage spikes so that its stuck at 98-100% until you close and reopen it
all that with the killswitch on, which wont help

    android though, 0 issues

    dave.richardsonskV's avatar
Do u have an offshore address
  19. dave.richardsonskV's avatar
Think u need to email them every 5yrs for extension
    zerbirus's avatar
yes, although thats not much of an issue, i mean if the site is working the vpn will be, cant speculate live support times in 5 years but they get back very fast currently
  20. Zek's avatar
Windows "app" is janky, everything gets treated as a virus in avast, installer, dll's, even the uninstall program, created loads of exceptions. Then none of the settings except smart connect work, it keeps saying try again later. It kept trying to connect to USA when euro countries were selected at the start, then one time didn't disconnect at all so had to restart. No OpenVPN. Seems to be faster than VPN unlimited in speed tests and seems to be working a bit better now I just use smart connect.
    zerbirus's avatar
avira is the same, then again avira kept doing it with qbittorrent and kept quarantining vpn unlimited installers as pups and i had issues with it marking atlas vpn similarly
as i was installing ivacy it started quarantining the folder contents and i ended up force closing ivacy, making a new installation folder and install there since avira had locked down the original folder for cleaning after restart
i get errors sometimes too, even if i switch protocols, although it has been working the past couple of days without the try again later errors (edited)
  21. sach1636's avatar
    Doh ended up paying taxes!
I keep getting error 'There is problem with the connection, please try again later' (edited)

If your trying it on a fire stick and Virgin is your provider you need to turn off child safe (you can access it through the virgin media app) I only discovered it by trial and error. To be honest speeds are pretty poor on the fire stick but for some reason pretty good on iPhone and iPad

I believe that VPN Mentor is owned by Kape Technologies, who own several 'big name' VPNs. Unsurprisingly some of them, notably ExpressVPN, rank very highly in VPNMentor lists of 'best' VPNs. I would not trust VPNMentor to produce unbiased reviews.

How good of a connection is it Also what's the transfer speed like guy? Really considering this
    dave.richardsonskV's avatar
Its alright for the price maybe a bit better than VPN unlimited and fastestvpn for streaming

Only vpn I’m willing to use is PIA, they are for the people.

Ivacy, definitely a company that needs more PR
Anyone been able to get port forwarding to work? I typed in the port in custom ports when logged in, set port forwarding on router to laptop (external and internal port I just put the port I chose?) but it is still showing something like "20 seconds no response, likely port is closed." Do you have to pay extra for port forwarding? I can see "Your Settings" on the port forwarding page but it also says "Talk to a live chat representative to add this add on" (edited)
    zerbirus's avatar
I have the same issue, I found by changing port numbers in the apps to under 1000 that it solved one of two issues, even though port checkers say they're closed. I've been meaning to ask ivacy support about that.. I mean at least udp works on the 3 ports I've tried under 1000

Edited: contacted support who want to do a team viewer remote session to fix it (no thanks!). As I said to them if it affects both android and Windows and most likely android TV and Xbox if I add it there, then how's connecting to my laptop going to help?

I've also mentioned to them my connection issues and the fact they don't show the ip of the server on Windows once connected. All been forwarded so we'll see. (edited)

Just go with Nord vpn they don't record your logs and pretty fast
