    I have one.
Excellent bit of kit which is used with an old monitor to stream stuff for kids.
However, the remote absolutely chews through AAA batteries. Needed to replace every 5 to 7 days before eventually reverted to taking batteries out when it wasn't in use. Rechargeables help and it may be that an arc remote gets round this problem.

I was finding this too but I might have a work around. There is a hidden menu and within that I found an option to stop the remote auto pairing (something like that - I'm not near it right now to check the exact option name) basically when the roku powers down the remote can no longer contact it and so starts looking to pair with something. So disabling that means the battery doesn't drain so fast.

The secret menu can be accessed by:
    - press Home 5 times
    - press ff, pause, rew, pause, ff

I can't vouch for the Roku side as I don't use that part but I can vouch for the audio side as I spotted the streambar a while ago as wanted a small sound bar to go under my PC monitor . For the size it does pump out some pretty loud and bassy sound. I'd say it's more ideal for a smaller room where you'll be sitting closer to the TV / monitor . It was worth it for £99 when I bought it so for £59 it's a steal.

Bit confused, is this 4K HDR or only 1080p? The description mentions both.
    sohailh1984's avatar
It has 4k output. Depends on your TV for best resolution

Good for old non smart tvs

I'd still have the Roku interface over a standard smart TV, especially the Vestel ones.

Great price. Think this usually only ever drops to around £99.99, which is the price I paid. Well worth it for using with an older TV where the interface had gotten slow and does provide a noticeable difference in audio.

    Great for smaller rooms!

Does it have 3.5mm input for non Bluetooth TV's? Thanks

Its got the streaming inside the speaker so you should just need to connect it to the tv via HDMI. I have a Samsung soundbar at the moment and I connect that just by HDMI.

Sorry absolute novice on this stuff - my sofa is the other side of the room from my TV and I just want some audio closer to the sofa as to hear the TV audio across the room you have to put the volume quite loud. Basically still want to be able to enjoy programs without worrying about waking the little one!

Will this work wireless with the TV and is the audio quality worth it ?

Unless you've got an absolutely massive living room I don't think the source being a metre or two closer to you will really make that much difference to the sound. What WILL make a bigger difference though is the TVs speakers - most slim modern TV's have speakers that point upward, downward, backward - any way but forward, mainly due to aesthetics. A soundbar that is pointing at you will always sound much better (and probably louder even at a lower volume) without half of that sound being dissipated around the room. Regardless how far away you sit, I think a soundbar will go a way to solving your problem.

Couple of questions for anyone that owns one.

    (1) One turned on, does it stay powered on ?

    (2) If connected to a new TV via HDMI, would the TV remote control operate the volume on the soundbar, or do you have to use the Roku remote?

Would like to get one for my elderly mother, but do not think she could handle another remote !

    Thanks in advance.

    (1) the power options can be set within the Roku interface. The default option is for the Roku to remain powered on for 4 hours.

    (2) Both the TV and Roku remotes can adjust the volume simultaneously.

    Can this do
    IPTV
    teerex's avatar
    Nope, you can't sideload apps

Bit confusing. Is this a speaker bar and a streaming stick combo? Do these things stream video from mob phone? As I don't pay licence fee and don't watch Freeview and boycot BBC propaganda, is this useful for other free stream stuff?
    anuruddha's avatar
Yes it a Roku streaming stick 4K is integrated with the soundbar
  13. iwo's avatar
Apparently the audio out of this is surprisingly quite capable, but what if one doesn't need the streaming aspect of the device? Is there a recommended compact soundbar alternative to this at a comparable price?
    deleted2921808's avatar
This supports optical input from the TV and HDMI ARC passthrough for audio if your TV supports it.

My PS5, XBOX Series X and HTPC are all passing audio through to our Roku streambar just fine.

No need to buy anything else but this IMO. (edited)

I can’t vouch for the audio but the 4K Roku sticks are excellent. I own one and an Apple TV and even though the ATV is a bit faster, there’s nothing it does a Roku stick can’t do for a third of the price. Fantastic product.

Excellent device. Originally bought of OH's large lounge where it worked surprisingly well. Now in my Mum's much smaller lounge and works very well there.

Steal at this price - if I didn't already have three other Roku 4K sticks, I'd bite... (edited)
    anuruddha's avatar
Just use it as a soundbar. Don't miss the deal man

Great little streamer. Has all the usual apps and Airplay too. I've put one in an AirBnB property and the guest mode is great where it will automatically log out of all apps on a given date or with a few clicks.

If you're upgrading an older non smart tv or a bedroom telly with poor sound this is amazing. Was double this price so I assume a new version is coming out but I've had this for a couple of years and it's excellent. Also fairly portable and works as a Bluetooth speaker but mains only
  34. AX31's avatar
Very littl stock unfortunately. Was going to get as bedroom frame Tv sound is a bit

Nice - been looking for a compact upgrade for the feeble speakers on our kitchen TV, and the streaming capability is a bonus. Managed to order the last one in a store near my parents, which I suspect is last within 50 miles! thanks OP!
