It’s going to be interesting to see how demand is for these. As great as it is (and I will no doubt get one when the right deal arrives), possibly a lot of people bought previous version, been there and done that.

It is leagues ahead of PSVR1. After playing Driveclub and RE7 on that, GT7 and RE8 look amazing. It's worth it for those and Pavlov alone IMO.

    ShopTo also has stock

If bought from Sony you could return it within 30 days, that's a decent test period to see if you can get over the motion sickness if you get it. Argos will accept returns in 30 days but says the product must be unused.

Is that clearly stated in Sony’s terms?

this is more a christmas purchase hopefully when any new games have been released or at least announced i'm hoping they might bring the price down by then or add afew games.

i'm also waiting on apple which will probably be too expensive and meta to see what there VR hardware is like you won't get the game franchises that sony have but it all depends how much effort sony puts into VR

There are currently 90 PSVR2 games in the Playstation store. Admittedly 30 of them haven't been released yet but that still leaves plenty to go at. There will be more games released before Christmas so I expect there will be some decent bundles to be had.

As for buying an Apple VR.... I expect it will come with a hefty price tag and won't be targeted at gamers. More for "pro" users and enthusiasts with money to burn.

Wow! I bought one of these for my youngest son and he hasn't been outdoors in weeks! So glad he is having fun xx. Would recommend! I hated him going outside and spending time with friends, so this is the perfect alternative! xx

    Love it

Had one since release - play about an hour a week on it since I broke my wheel for GT7.

GT7 is an incredible experience and if you like racing games, it's worth it.

The biggest surprise for me was how social the gaming actually is. Even if it's only 'songle player' watching someone fight themselves with the headset on and watching the action on TV is surprisingly entertaining.
    Westwoodo's avatar
How did you break your wheel?
  8. benjyFJH's avatar
Random question - can you play regular games on these too? i.e if my missus was watching tv could I use the headset to play fifa?
    NE1L27's avatar
    Yes you can.

Not too shabby. 7% work discount, plus a further 10% via completesavings. Shame I don't want one!

I will bite once they can work on PC. (edited)

If I had a PS5 I'd be all over this - wish Microsoft would do VR for the Series X. As it is I'll wait for an all in one bundle deal.

Have Amazon got this yet ?
  12. mazzyhope's avatar
I have a Quest 2 but really only use it every once in a while for, uh, "adult" content. Can you even do that with the PSVR2?
    powerbrick's avatar
    No
  13. Jimmy.T's avatar
I'm a PS5 owner, but really struggle to have any sympathy over what appears to be an inevitable failure of this device. No backward compatibility will mean many who bought PSVR1 will not want to get bitten again & the number of games is, again, predictably underwhelming. PlayStation have form with the Vita & PSVR1 of failing to commit games to the cause, expecting buyers to be satisfied with a handful, whilst a PS5, for example, has a wealth of content. Sadly, £529 for a (albeit technically advanced) headset that is already failing is money wasted.
    copperspock's avatar
Already failing? We don't have the sales figures so there's no way you could know that, yet you're pretending to know.
It also had over 40 games available at launch, and there are over 100 in development. That's underwhelming to you  . Okey dokes.
  14. DealDarren's avatar
The tech is brilliant but I've been burnt by Sony before with PSVR1. Every single game I bought for it is now shovelware and locked to that headset.

Quest 2 has its technical limits (although it is untethered and portable) but Meta have at least guaranteed cross-platform compatability across their generations.

I'm not buying yet another headset and investing hundreds of pounds in software only to be told, once again, "Sorry but can you buy all these again on PS6? Ta."
    copperspock's avatar
PSVR1 and PSVR2 have completely different tracking systems, controls, FOVs etc.

PSVR2 has the widely used inside-out tracking system and standard motion controls.
So if there's a PSVR3, it would be a LOT easier to make it BC with the PSVR2 games.

There are also a number of devs who've upgraded their PSVR1 games to PSVR2 for free. It's up to the devs, not Sony.

Console price. PS need to knock 200 at least for the 5 games on it.
    Serpico73's avatar
The thing is though they won't and can't probably due to cost of the tech. Early reports are it's struggling on the sales front as we thought it might. In 5 years the price will be a lot more pallatable as the technology will be cheaper. Good that you can now get through other retailers though as spread the cost with credit a bit easier..
  16. iEffluo's avatar
Psvr2 is incredible technology and the best value entry into high level VR if you have a ps5.
Everyone who has a ps5 and can afford it, should get it.
    copperspock's avatar
Or at the very least, give it a try. It's mad the number of people who initially dismissed VR as a gimmick, then after trying GT7 in VR, they end up buying a whole racing rig  XD
  17. Dominatez's avatar
Will wait to these drop massively in price as they are way over priced.

  20. richteabiscuit's avatar
Great that other retailers have this in stock now. Gonna wait till september when the new slim ps5 is hopefully out and prices for both are a bit more reasonable. Zelda in the meantime!

Glad to see these are finally out in the wild, still hoping they can agree a deal to get Half Life on here, think that would be a game changer for sales.
  22. aturner123's avatar
Ive barely seen much marketing around this headset.
  23. notsram's avatar
I've said in the past that PSVR2 is too expensive, and I still stand by that, but having read some of the reviews, I must admit I'd be tempted.

IF it had at least some backwards compatability. Most of the PSVR games I own won't work on the new system (a couple do at least have free upgrades), and I'm not going to either bin them or spend more for the privilege of being able to carry on playing games that I already own.

Sony have shot themselves in the foot with this. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's going to stick with the original PSVR (edited)
    Kataan's avatar
I don't think that it's fair to put all of the blame on Sony for the lack of backwards compatibility. The game developers (not Sony) would need to modify their existing PSVR1 games to work with the new controllers and headset. This isn't as easy as just flicking a switch. They would have to modify their source code to work with the new hardware. Even if they decide not to take advantage of the new haptics, it's still going to require some significant amount of programming resource to implement and test the changes. That's why there are only a handful of games that have free upgrades.

Don't bother with RE8 worst game I've ever bought, can't make it past the shed damn scary.

Really ,fantastic game imho. Resi 4 also masterpiece and so much re playability .
Hope they redo Resi 1 in the new engine

I *still* can't justify the expense even though I know the tech inside is worth double!

Just give it a year and wait for the revised v2 model, usually that also means a lower price, i did this for the PSVR and got the revised model that fixed a few issues.....i am waiting util a PS5 slim appears before i move totally over to it and the PSVR2, it is a very nice bit of kit, and oled seals the deal for me, as i have a few lcd hmds and they are just awful with their grey blacks. I'm very tempted but will wait for a lower price, but more importantly I'm hoping it can be used on a PC in future for . . . . . certain reasons
    codebee's avatar
Sony will do their most to ensure it never works outside of the PS5 as the hardware is sold at a loss so they’re banking on software sales. Hopefully someone figures out a way to softmod it though!
  30. Xemorph's avatar
Good to see this selling in retail, got this on launch day. Hopefully now they'll start to promote some new games in a showcase, its been like PCVR all over again and only have 5 games. (edited)

how is it? if you have other VR headset to compare. the VR headset i got has terrible viewing angle, its like looking through a hole and res is pretty low

as others have said by christmas or maybe even black friday we may get either a price cut or free games included.

does anyone know if the padding is the same used for the original VR as mine like many other PSVR owners has suffered with whats called dry rot, basically the covering on the padding for the head pads has crumbled to bits, seems many headsets have suffered this same fate, bit off putting if this will suffer the same fate at £500
    Kataan's avatar
The top layer of the headband on my PSVR1 had perished quite badly. The material on my PSVR2 feels/looks different so I'm hoping that it won't suffer the same fate as the older headset. I have noticed that there are some (washable) fabric covers being sold specifically for the PSVR2 headband by some third party providers. They help to soak up sweat and slightly improve comfort. I'll wait a couple of years until there's a lot more games & at cheeper prices. I mean Horizon is £50-60 for an 8 hour game
    copperspock's avatar
Get it from the Turkish store for ~£29.
  37. JonnySmiyhs4's avatar
For me this is still a wait and see as I’m still not 100% sure how well Sony will support this with top quality VR games.
  38. BargainHunterUK1's avatar
I wonder how good this is…. I just consciously got the oculus as my first VR…… was tempted with this, but due to price and it being new, i chise to wait and see… can always ebay the oculus…..

one thing that stood out to me on reviews was that many reviewers felt the oculus was built as a VR unit and you can feel this through all the menus etc…. The psv2 however is described as more of a bolt on…. Want to be sure that there are enough games and commitment from sony on this as it is a huge layout…. Also wanted to ensure i didnt get too motion sick before investing in a very expensive set lol
