How much power can you squeeze into a thin and light laptop? Quite a lot, it turns out. The Zenbook 14 packs a 12th gen Intel® Core™ i5processor and Iris® Xegraphics into an amazingly thin body. Combine that with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen, and you've got an ultra-portable productivity machine. The screen is Pantone colour validated, which means it's perfect for creative work, watching movies and casual gaming. And it's got up to 10 hours of battery life, so you can leave the charging brick at home.

Good to know

- It weighs under 1.4 kg, so you'll barely know it's in your bag
- The 512 GB SSD gives you plenty of space for all your files – and it's darn fast, too
- With the lightning fast WiFi 6E you can forget about the loading circle
- Multitask without bogging down your system, thanks to the 16 GB RAM
- The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio - that's similar to 16:9, just a little taller (and better)
- Forget passwords – the fingerprint sensor is much more convenient
- Share your screen with the whole table thanks to the 180° hinge
- With the two Thunderbolt 4 ports, you can connect to just about anything
- There's also a regular USB-A port, a MicroSD card reader and an HDMI port

Would this be good for gaming with an external GPU? (edited)

Yes and no. It has got a Thunderbolt connect so you can connect an external GPU. However keep in mind that this is a low TDP processor and it may struggle a bit in CPU intensive titles. There might also be an issue with thermal throttling if you push it to the limits as I cant imagine it has got a very efficient cooling system. CPUs like this are designed in mind with power efficiency (edited)

it is yes.. they are identical with build quality etc but the intel version has the better processor, ddr5 ram, webcam, has slighty better integrated graphics performance, pcie gen4 ssd instead gen 3 and thunderbolt 4. the amd on the other will be power efficient.

at this price mark the intel model would be better value for the money

Tempted by this one. Its a shame the Memory is soldered and not upgradable although 16GB should be enough for most laptops if you aren't gaming or doing memory intensive processing.

The SSD is upgradable as per the Service Guide here and look easy enough with a bit of care!

I saw this laptop in the store last week and the screen on it stood out the most from all of them on display.

    Hot deal! 🔥

Got this off ebay at a few quid cheaper as was new in box but for what it is and the price well happy with it. Bit of a pig to get the back off, peel off the rubber feet on back unscrew the torq screws and try not to scratch the back with a knife like I did, upgraded mine to 1tb.

Or you can use an external NVMe with an enclosure , get a cool ssd like a WD Blue

Voted hot, this is a good deal. I like the screen, the specs, it is slim and compact and metal built. I've got a 13 inch Zenbook which is just under 1kg. Hard to understand how this one is 400g heavier. My 6 old Acer 14 inch ultrabook is 1.2kg, don't know how this one is 1.4kg. (edited)

Can someone answer my question please? Would that be ok for light gaming such as league of legends?
Also is this one or Lenovo t14 gen 3 is better?

its fine those kind of games you will be getting over 100+fps on medium 1080p settings, will run AAA/gpu intensive games on low/medium settings 30/50 fps

same intel xe g7 80eu igpu

although the lenovo t14 is a superb machine and unless you need the business class features this asus is better value imo for its build quality, display, performance ratio as even the basic gen2/3 with fhd, 8gb ram t14 is at £1000 (edited)

Amy idea of the real battery life? I have had a similar model. Found it slightly flimsy tbf.

    However the display is super.

5-6 hours I'd say 7 at a push, fine for me as i'm rarely using it on battery only.

Good build quality, screen is excellent and 16 GB of RAM is nice. Can't really fault anything at this price point.

Mine comes today. How are people that bought it feeling about it?

I read about the screen door effect which is my only concern.

    How is the fan noise?
    AllisKoftaa's avatar
    AllisKoftaa
If you do a quick google search, You’ll find it a bit noisy. They say it runs quietly with light use but gets noisy as the load increases. It has three modes to control the fan. It will be noisy if you run on performance mode. I don’t have one but I like silent laptops hence moved away from this.
