sorted byLebara £1.99 for 12GB for 6 months is far better (edited)
To me, roaming was working in the EU though. They do not have 4G calling or Wi-Fi calling. I think that is why their plans are cheaper.
If you can get a similar Lebara deal just go with that.
Useless company
Roaming is bang on! No issues and you also get 50 international minutes whilst roaming.
In the UK absolute joke.
Given the comments on customer service I think I might just port number out (edited)

Speaking from experience
I had 3 sims with them (for me and 2 children) on 6-month offers. After 2 months or so they said there was a problem with my credit card having expired, so said (after hours and hours of trying to contact their terrible support) that meant the deal for my daughter's phone was now void. That left me with no working phone at no notice.
There was no problem with my credit card - they happily billed the same one for my second sim some time after that.
They then did the same with my third sim - said the credit card was expired.
So 2 out of 3 sims weren't renewed by them (their fault - not mine!) and I had to move to another company, with all the hassle and days of no working phones.
2 out of 3 contracts with them were messed up - not great odds! I'd heard before about the exact same thing happening to others, but thought that it was probably rare. It isn't. I don't know if it's deliberate (get you on a cheap deal, expire the deal early on the pretence of a problem, and then expect you to pay them to get your phone working again) or if it's just incompetence. Either way, I'd recommend everyone to avoid them.
I've still got the 1 sim with them (as all this has happened recently) but I'm going to move that soon as I don't want to suddenly find my son's phone has it happen to his, too.
There's a reason all these threads about Lyca deals get lots of people warning you about the company! It seems like problems happen to lots of people. The hassle it causes isn't worth it.
I'm aware that o2 and Lyca use the same network, same masts, same frequency etc, but sometimes o2 has full signal, whereas Lyca has non or poor signal. how does that work ??
I then deleted my eSIM because I wanted to reload it on my phone, was such a hassle to figure out how to do it. I was genuinely worried my number was lost. Customer service chat is a joke, it’s like talking to a bot. When they can’t solve your issue they pretend you disconnected.
Calling them is useless, they don’t know anything and just say that they are going to escalate but nothing happens. Ended up figuring it out myself and managed switching my number to a physical SIM that I still had from them, but the website is so inconsistent and unprofessional, sometimes seems like it’s been translated from another language in Google translate.
Connection often drops from LTE to 3G, overall it’s a really bad experience, wouldn’t touch them again - I just hope porting my number back will work.
If you want eSIM just wait a few months. The next iPhone will be eSIM only in Europe and even cheaper carriers will have to adapt. Lebara already offers eSIM elsewhere.

Please don't learn the hard way
Ps they have a weird 4G (LTE) vs 3G issue where data doesn’t always work unless I manually change it again and again depending on when/where it breaks. Also had issues onboarding where they forwarded my old number instead of porting correctly causing imsg registration issues. CS useless..again. (edited)
Does Lebara have the same issue with their EE overlords? ANyone made similar comparisons?
Thanks

And yes, I made sure I'd opted out of all marketing and third party stuff. I
I went back to id. I've tried others recently, but Three's coverage in my area is great and id never spammed me or created any other issues in the past. (edited)
Avoid the amount of spam and unknown calls and messages through WhatsApp using them is beyond (edited)
