Looking for a budget set for around £300-£400 preferably 43-50 inch, my poor old LG is so dark now I'm struggling to watch certain scenes in movies
Any suggestions guys and girls (edited)

I would personally look at getting one of the QLED Hisense or TCL TVs that pop up almost every week when on offer. They are just better than the budget models LG and Samsung provide. My one suggestions would be to try to buy from someone offering a 5 year warranty and to purchase a Roku or firestick, as the smart features are usually a little slow.

EDIT: info below not correct apparently no Freesat EPG

Good choice for Freesat user's as this has a satellite connector on board as well as coax for Freeview. One less box under the telly (edited)

It doesn't have Freesat, only a generic satellite (DVB-S) tuner and UI. You'll tune in to literally hundreds of channels from all over the place, not a bad thing if you have the patience to sit down and sort but it won't be as seamless an experience as the Freesat UI/EPG. (edited)

Just to say I have confirmed with LG that the Freesat EPG is *not* included in this TV - so it will connect to satellite but have a very limited (if any) EPG (edited)

Good find, seems like they have reduced a few of these models!

Trying to give TCL and Hisense a run for the money, but it will be a pointless exercise in the long run. China's low labour rates and almost limitless availability of cheap labour, near-limitless access to rare earths (vast tracts of which they own in Africa), PRC involvement in every aspect of these companies etc. etc. compared to South Korea (high labour rates/ std of livin, coupled to the lowest birth rate in the world) will ultimately allow Chinese tech giants to overtake most others.

Thanks for the info, I gather this would only apply for those who don't already subscribe though?

I have this Tv, good picture, but UI is over complicated and it’s slow switching to freeview

Is this better than 43UQ80006LB. Any major differences ?

Hi thanks for sharing the deal. I am budgeting around £300. I will mainly be watching football from firestick and perhaps some gaming at some point, so am guessing the refresh rate is fairly important?! Appreciate this is a fairly low budget, would this TV do a job or am I better off going for a hisense or TCL model? If so could you please link me to an appropriate model. Thanks in advance

Ah so annoying, I decided to buy this but it's out of stock now ☹️

Edit: managed to get it from John Lewis with 5 year warranty for £259.99 with £20 off members voucher. (edited)
