35% off one of the lightest best balance bikes around. Normally 199 and second hand around 100. this is an expensive bike but it it from a top end British brand ( I don’t think it is made in England )

Might be useful if someone is on the lookout for one, other colours cost more

£130 with rrp of £200!? For a balance bike!? I know of isla bikes quality but what quality are you looking for a balance bike that your kid will use for the shortest period of time?
Who agrees that this is more for the parents to show off then the real need of the child

I got a (used) Rothan for my first child, and now my second uses it.

I’m not really fussed about showing off, but I did want a lightweight balance bike with pneumatic tyres and a brake. The Rothan seemed to be the best option.

Weve had a specialzed balance bike for years - its aluminium frame is really light, and that makes it much easier for even a small child to heft around. It also makes much more pleasant for an adult who has to carry it I think ours was around £120 about 12 yrs ago. Ive repainted it once in that time, making it look like new. So I, if this is similarly very light, id say this was a bargain price.

They've also got a good sale on the cnoc 14 large. I've just ordered one. People are asking around 200 quid for those used, some of them are over 5 years old and look battered, no thanks. On sale at 300 for a new one, normally 400 which I admit is an expensive first bike. Couldn't resist a new one with a 100 quid saving. (edited)

We have one of these, been good. Much better than the cheap ones for kids to learn on, better geometry, lighter weight, a brake, pneumatic tyres etc etc. Well made components, metals levers, proper stem etc etc. No doubt that if I could contort myself to fit on it, it would hold my weight haha.

Two gripes, one, unshielded bearings on wheels and headset and the second, they use a headset bearing with a tab to stop the bars turning too far, the tab on ours snapped off. Otherwise it's been well used by a few kids and going strong. (edited)

Yeah, I agree, I got a vitus one, super light weight, I think it was about 30 quid from wiggle.

I have, however, got an early rider as my son's first pedal bike, I felt it was important to get something decent there which was light, decent shape etc.

I believe this would keep its value well for resale if that's your bag

I got early rider as well for my son, although given to me, and can see the benefits. But to give over £100 for a balance bike? No way.

I've been shopping for one for my (nearly) 2 year old and to tick the boxes of light, real tyres and a brake, I haven't found anything better. It's a shame the boss is insisting on pink or else I'd save £20. Got another baby on the way and for their sake, I hope it's another girl because they'll be riding a pink handmedown bike regardless!
