HAMMERHEAD KAROO 2 GPS CYCLING COMPUTER
The Hammerhead Karoo 2 is incredibly sleek and one of the most powerful GPS Cycling Computers out there. It brings together the benefits of a smartphone operating system, Android 8, with that of a purpose-built GPS unit, and your Hammerhead account can be used to sync routes, workouts and access certain settings. The unit itself is light yet strong, and the Dragontrail™ glass panel screen has an acid-etched matt, anti-glare finish that's easy to view in all light conditions. The responsive touchscreen of smartphone quality won't be affected by rain or mud, and the screen can be locked via a double button tap when required. In poor conditions, you can switch to using the four high grip buttons on the unit, ensuring full functionality no matter the weather.
Four satellite sensors are integrated into the unit: GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and QZSS, for extremely accurate data. The Karoo 2 supports a whole host of external sensors, including Varia Radar for indications of approaching traffic, as well as training sensors, including electronic drivetrains and Smart Trainers.
The unit is waterproof, in addition to being resistant to dust, so there's no risk of moisture or other contaminants getting in. A shock-reducing bumper takes some of the impact, particularly over rough terrain.
The Karoo 2 fits to the handlebar using a patent-pending Hammerhead mounting system. The aerodynamic profile cuts drag for knocking off those all-important seconds, and the unit attaches via an affirmative click. Rotation is required to disconnect, so you can rest assured that the fit is extremely secure. A Karoo to quarter-turn adapter is included, which can be fitted to any Garmin-compatible bracket, meaning previous mounts aren't rendered obsolete. Battery life is long at around 12 hours, and a full charge takes just three hours from empty.
