If I get this using the 36 month payments, does that mean I must keep giffgaffs auto renew switch on for its sim card?
    Edward_Smithm0J's avatar
No, the device is on finance through Klarna, the giffgaff auto renew is an independent payment for the monthly connection and easily cancelled.

Combined with the Pixel 7 O2 deal, pretty sure noone is buying these. If you can wait a few weeks I wouldn't be surprised to see these at 350 or even lower.

They’ve been £360 + £10 top up on PAYG sim Three since launch I believe

Got pixel 7a a week ago. The battery lasts "one hour". Also wireless charger is really slow. Basically feels like you don't have one and regular charging is slower too in comparison with the same price range phones. Lastly old gorilla glass which is easily scratched. The box didn't even have a basic case for the phone.

Battery will be sfficient after 2 weeks when NPU learns your habits. 4-6 hrs SOT. Almost a full day.
If your network provider is strong in your area try to use your phone on LTE(4G) only! With Vodafone the speed is phenomenal on 4G, for me 150 mbps on average which is more than enough for anything. 5G is overhyped at this stage and drains your battery as hell.
Download Ookla speedtwst app, launch it with wifi off, 5G on and take a measurement. After repeat it but on 4G/3G/2G settings on phone. If your 4G speed is more than 70 mbps there is not gonna be any problem with your media consumption. Each metering takes about 200-300 MB of data just aware you. (edited)

    Is everything okay with you?

I'm pretty sure you must have set up a bot to comment your hatred for Pixel devices on every single phone deal.

Or do you just have little interesting else to do?

Maybe you are getting a commission? :/

Hate the fact these otherwise excellent devices have no microSD slots.

Literally no good reason for it other than corporate greed and wanting to upsell you their own cloud storage. No better than Apple.

I do not really mind. Back then I got phones with microSDs (branded ones) and many times I lost my datas because of file corruption. It never happens anymore with embedded UFS storage. And so much faster. 128 gb storage upgrade costs 50 quids brandwide. It is 35 pounds more than a microSD but for a phone what I use for the next 3 years it is no money especially the benefits what I get with onboard memory. But this is just my opinion.
Worth to mention I use my phone with external ssd a lot at home transferring huge files. My phones port supports usb 3.1. My ext. Ssd is 3500 mbps. Obviously there is a limit between these too but still I can copy 10 GB of files in 25 seconds. With mediocre microSD it would take at least 4 minutes. (edited)

I can't believe reviewers haven't said how cheap the plastic back is in comparison to the 6a's. I also can't believe Google have used such a cheap grade of plastic( to allow Qi) it feels like my kids first phone the Huawei Y330 and the Bezels.
If you don't like dark mode you're in for a shock

They may as well have just put front firing speakers back on the thing.

Its going to Interesting to see what Nothing will want for their new phone, because of the 3 phones I've been playing with this week
    POCO F5
    Pixel 7a
    Nothing 1
The Nothing is easily the highest quality phone, 2nd the Poco and last by a good margin the Pixel 7a. (edited)

Pixel phones weakest point are always built quality. Like Suzukis in cars. Overall good performance with economically beneficial usage but feels cheap. Reflected on price tag too.
And yes, Nothing Phone is a well constructed, smart choice of important features integrated in.

Expired sadly, was probably the best price for the 7a upfront till now but its now back to £449.

Google need to compete with Samsung who are offering insane summer cash backs and trade ins making the 7a price point almost pointless.

Went to try and get the pixel 7a for the £360 price point at a three store in Salisbury. They refused saying they only sell them on contracts here because they are a "small" store. But if we go to Southampton which is bigger, they'll sell us the phone on PAYG with £10.

Makes zero sense and really really annoying. Not sure when I'll be able to get to the "big" store. But appears this is the cheapest going deal but unfortunately not online.
