sorted byPS: it also reduces all those 5g signals from Bill Gates surprisingly well. (edited)
I don't have a clue how it all works, but I'm sure it's plausible
The closest solution for your home would be a fixed AC install through your wall
The air that has gone out of the window needs to be replaced so your room doesn't become a vacuum and this air can only come from outside the room, under the door, through an air vent etc so hot air from outside the room is now flowing into the room making it warm. Coupled to that the hose going out the window is hot which is also contributing to heating the room up.
With a split system the two halves are completely separate, the cool air stays in the room and it uses outside air to cool the condenser. these all in one units must be so inefficient not to mention noisy.
You can buy portable ac with separate intake / exhaust pipes in other countries but hard to find in the UK.
Yes, I would prefer a proper split unit, but not possible in a flat. (edited)
I sleep with gel ear things anyway, because my neighbour is a C you next Tuesday, but be prepared.
Also, a longer, more maleable hose is probably going to be a necessity. The hose is strong, so, difficult to manoeuvre, and short (for me)
Does cost around 33p an hour to run electric bill wise (edited)
It’s great we’ve been using it the last couple weeks and it really helps to cool the room just make sure you check what size room the 10,000 BTU is designed for.
The only downside is venting. The vent is designed for sliding windows but they’re not common in the uk so you’ll be best off buying a window seal on Amazon like this for it:
AC Window Seal,Portable Universal Window Kit for Mobile Air Conditioner Unit and Tumble Dryer 400cm/158Inch,Hot Air Stop Air Exchange Guards with Zip and Adhesive Fastener amzn.eu/d/i…O8p
Have some heat
Impossible to hear anything over the unit.
