    Another point worth mentioning.
If you're after cycle carriers then the Thule 598 is better than earlier variations because it has a few design modifications like a strong frame clamp.
They are selling on the likes of eBay and Facebook for over £100 each used.
There is a seller on eBay called swedishcaracessories who is selling Volvo branded ones that are exactly the same but they have a small Volvo logo stamped on them.
You could sand it off or cover it if it really bothers you but they accept best offer of £130 for 2 brand new.
    Bargain.
I fitted to the car few days ago.
    Good kit. (edited)

The Ford accessories store also often sells branded versions with a decent discount
I agree about the 598; significantly less wobbly than the 591 (?) version.

Thanks been looking at this, ordered

I bought a pair a few days ago.
Worth mentioning that you can save some money by buying the older model clamps freely available on eBay as opposed to the newer model which are the same. (edited)

Recently bought some Thule items. Good quality overall and spares should be had easily and at a cheaper rate if found on ebay etc, non Thule branded too. You may need a footpack and fitting kit or just a foot pack deepened on car/type. With all the different accessories etc you can end up with quite a few different keys. But with a lock pack you can change them to the same key.

Hope that assists anyone looking took me a while to get my head around it all. (edited)

If you live in the north check out journey centre in Sheffield for all Thule products. They offer fitting service too if your unsure. I got all my car kitted out by them

If you're near Manchester then this place sells the Thule 108cm, 118cm or 127cm wing bars for £79.99:

    autocraze.co.uk/cat…win

Can only reserve online and collect from their store.

Note that they do appear to be the older model though. Main difference that I'm aware of is the rubber seal strip which covers the T track: the old one is just a single piece and so will need to be cut to appropriate lengths and refitted around whatever accessories you mount into the T track; whereas on the new version, there's a channel in the rubber that allows you to just slide accessories in/out so it's more convenient. Believe the rubber is mostly to prevent the whistling noise when the car is travelling at speed.

Also, keep an eye out on ebay as decent deals do pop up quite regularly. I recently got a used kit (wing bars, foot pack and fixing kit) for £70 delivered. (edited)
    Bigg_Will's avatar
So question for you, is the extra £10 worth it for the newer one? I'm just thinking of the whistling sound

I ordered these bars, thanks OP.

Halfords are doing a 10% off promotion ending today (code MOTORING10) so I got a set of feet (Thule 7104) reduced and an extra £5 off if you sign up to their free motoring club! If you have vouchers through work, you can probably reduce things even further.

Just thought I would mention in case it helps anyone else bring the costs down a bit!

Exactly what I did. Was the cheapest way to get the set that I could find (similar price to used bars/feet on ebay)

Initially I bought both bars and feet from Halfords as they were offering £20 off bars if you bought both, but they still came to £117 and so worked out more expensive even with the 10% code. (edited)

If you don't mind your roof bars not having the Thule logo, then you can buy the Halfords own brand. They are literally last years models of Thule boxes & bars. Thule sell them to Halfords whenever they bring out a new model. They even say Thule on the small embossed manufacturing print, just Exodus labels stuck on instead of Thule. Of course, if you just want to look cool with the "Thule" logo, it is your money.
    Sithuk's avatar
Do you know if it is only the exodus that are Thule manufactured? Halford sell an “advanced aero bars” model. Do you know of that is Thule manufactured too?

I have these, paid £195, a great price

Struggling to find how I can make sure these fit my three series. Does the thule site tell you which model number you need?
    weirdo's avatar
There are compatibility checkers on Thule's site (as well as most other sites that sell Thule roof bars):

    Thule

    Fit Confirmed
    BMW 3-Series 4-dr Sedan 2019-Included:
    • Thule Wingbar Evo 118 cm roof bar two-pack aluminium | 711200
    • Thule Evo Fixpoint foot for vehicles four-pack black | 710700
    • Kit 187056

We got these for this price a few weeks ago. For some reason Amazon seem to sell the 127cm bars cheaper than the other lengths.

For our Tiguan, we just needed the feet. The feet cost more than the bars. My brother-in-law bought a shorter length for their Focus Active. He needed the feet and a fixing kit.

The Thule website helps you check what you need or try this website -

Would these work for a Honda Insight 2012? And assuming i need a fitting kit (as the insight has not roof rails) - where can i get one of those?

You can enter your car details and check on the Thule website (will tell you what bars and feet you need)

Had some wingbar edge fitted permanently to a vehicle for nearly 6 years. Silent at motorway speeds when nothing was on them. High quality items that survived plenty of wear with the vehicle sat outside in all weathers that entire time. Took them off and sold them for £60 when I had no more use for them....
  14. jouster's avatar
That’s a great price. Lord knows how I sold my 10 year old ones for £100 last week (were from an 11 plate Mini Countryman) (edited)

    Thanks OP. Bought.
Now does anyone know a good deal on a Thule roofbox ?

How do I know if these will fit? Halfords says no but Halfords also say nothing will fit.

2010 E92 3 Series LCI if anyone can help!
    Why_so_serious's avatar
You need to go to the website and input car details.
They will tell you what size bars you need.
Sometimes front and back are different size because of the shape of car.
You can still use longer bars but they will overhang the car as long as they're not out further than your mirrors.
  18. Mattyhlfc's avatar
Would this fit a 2019 Renault Clio hatchback?
    DigiLog's avatar
You can check fitment by vehicle on the Thule website.

This width will fit the majority of mid-sized cars. I've used them on Mk7 Golfs & A3 8V's.
  19. edwardlau88's avatar
Standard price for the last year and has been cheaper

Sorry new to the Thule game but assuming these just come with the roof racks and need to get the feet separately? I have a Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake Estate 2014 with fixed points so not sure if I would also need to get a rail to clamp the feet.
    Donny-Kong's avatar
Not sure on the cls but if it's the saloon style where you have 4 mounting points then no. You would need footpack and fitting kit. Can't find any clear pictures but doesn't look like they use the normal estate bars that are fixed on the sides.
  21. weirdo's avatar
Or CRUZ roof bars as an alternative cheaper option:

    roofbox.co.uk/roo…php

Approx £140 for aero bars and includes the required fitting kit. Lock is £10 extra. (edited)
  22. sswats's avatar
Tempted. I have the squarebar which is noisy on the motorway when I am not carrying anything.
Problem is i think i threw away all the bike bracket attachments for this evo type.

Also do i need to change the fixpoint foot? the pictures on thule website show a different foot than i have.
    Donny-Kong's avatar
If you look at it side on and it's an outline 'T' shape you should be fine. I bought a set with different feet and put my footpack and fitting kit on to the bars I bought.
  23. yell77's avatar
Can we fit bikes and carry case on these?
    Donny-Kong's avatar
    Yes
  24. Alexander_Fischer's avatar
If you mount a box to these, remember to take it off when you don't need them (unless, of course, you like wasting lots of fuel). See way too many people with a roofbox that is clearly empty in work car parks
    codebee's avatar
Unless you’re doing serious miles and storing stuff inside them to add weight to the car, a roof box’s impact to your fuel consumption is going to be negligible. It’s a non-issue. (edited)
  25. moneybanks14's avatar
Will these fit a BMW f31 tourer?
  26. Mickey9iron's avatar
A reasonable offer on the Thule 598 bike carriers (especially if you are after 3) at Halfords - but ends today:

    halfords.com/cyc…BwE (edited)
  27. ssc1's avatar
Meh, looks like it’s just the bars.
    Why_so_serious's avatar
    It is just the bars.
  28. SPLE22's avatar
    Why would I need this?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
To carry a box on the roof/carry bikes around on roof/to carry ladders around on roof/carry (insert_anything _big _here) with suitable tie downs.
  29. eyup's avatar
Hmmm. Thule says my car takes 118cm. Any issues fitting 127's?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
    Just longer overhang
  30. Jonnyblock's avatar
Would this be suitable for a Dacia Sandero?
  31. gozo's avatar
So it says my Fiesta is 'confirmed' for this model, but I only have small drainage channels on top of the roof. Is this just the 2 bars that go door-to-door?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
    These are just the bars.
You will need clamps and a fitting kit.
  32. Jonnyblock's avatar
There seems to be similar for much cheaper on eBay?
    jouster's avatar
same Thule bars, or just bars in general?
  33. rrr99gp's avatar
Would love one that can be used on rails as opposed to bars.
    georgeb's avatar
These fit on raised rails on edge of roof if that’s what you mean?
  34. deleted2919055's avatar
Has anyone got theirs yet, I know it says dispatched 21/22nd but OP said theirs was dispatched a few days later. Bought mine on the 3rd and still not dispatched yet. Just wondering, I can wait.

    Just received, 13 July

Does anyone know if you need a special roof box to fit these wing bars. I have been offered a roof box to borrow from a friend but they have square bars on their car
