Is the 8GB RAM on the 1TB model worth paying£400 for if not needing storage?

No, I don’t think you’d notice it. iPad memory management is really slick and efficient. Apps are loaded when needed and discarded when something else needs the RAM. I’m never aware of whether an app is already in memory or loaded from storage. There may be exceptions if editing video or huge RAW photo files but im a heavy user and don’t think I’d appreciate the difference. An M1 iPad is near instant and everything. Stunning machine.

This was on display, touched by millions of fingers …… I would rather buy from stranger than ex-display

Mine just arrived (less than 24hr delivery!) It's basically brand new. Arrived with 0% charge (but pulling 40w from my 60w USB charger :o). Warranty expires 30th May 2024. Awesome bargain I'd say. very pleased. Thanks again op!

50577669-4j4Mt.jpgFor those worried about the battery, this is mine. Just the one charge (since I received it on 0%). Capacity is actual above the designed amount. Maybe I should return it

What app did you use to check the battery life? Is there an iPad app or Mac? As I don’t use a windows pc. Thanks

Fully boxed, charger and charging cable not even taken out.

Everything as new (apart from obviously being opened previously).

Apple warranty good until 31st March 2024.

    Battery cycle count = 1

Very Happy - thanks OP (edited)

My most favourite iPad of all time. Buckets of power and a screen and speaker system that is better than 99% of laptops.

If this was an "Apple Demo", does it mean the battery will have degraded more than say normal use?

With the screen on all the time and it constantly on charge, yes.

Guys I know this is off topic a bit but I’m torn between buying this or the refurbished M1 Pro MacBook Pro. Any advice will be appreciated. Cheers

Got to ask yourself if you need a tablet or a laptop, I personally see a lot of those trying to replace a laptop with this a bit disappointed. I personally believe this is a complementary device I.e. in addition to a laptop.

I would not have an iPad if I did not have an actual pc elsewhere, be it a desktop or laptop

Contemplating on whether to get this. It goes for roughly this amount second hand (voucher included). Battery health is my concern. These iPads are on constantly and being charged constantly.

Perhaps only way of finding out is to honestly buy it. But keeping an eye on OP for what they have to say. Might as well just get it and return unused if OP’s experience with device and it’s battery health isn’t great. Their return policy is really strict also, it’s a used item essentially and so long as the box is opened and item is used, currys would refuse a refund. (edited)

It's arriving tomorrow or Thurs so will let you know. As its a used item and returns are accepted I can't see how they would apply their returns policy around it being brand new and unopened.

    A 12.9 iPad Pro M1?

Edit: can only find the much cheaper 11” for this price unless I’m mistaken? (edited)

I think you are mistaken. They don’t appear to have stocked this model.

Mine just arrived a day late.

Immaculate still had the plastic protection on, 0 charge cycles, rear of box has a small "Demo Product - Not for Resale"

All accessories never removed from cardboard. Other than the seal being broken this is a brand new item.

Interested if those who bought think the AppleCare+ £149 / 2 years is worthwhile or not?
    preamble's avatar
    preamble
I got it today, my last iPad Pro I dropped and the cost to fix the screen was 80% of buying a new one. 149 for 2 yrs (incl my Magic Keyboard) isn’t too bad by comparison to the cost of a repair, replacing and other insurance policies with much bigger excesses. I find apple service second to none, but you do get what you pay for.
