You can combine TV with this or this Samsung soundbar for £378.99 with possible £50 Argos gift card (comes with sound bar).

The listed price on the soundbar is absolutely ridiculous. The previous model, S60A was often on sale for about £75. Even at that price, some left negative comments about it. Moreover, with cashback, lots of people got them for free or even received more cashback than the price they've paid for it. In my case, I've got 2, and after cashback, I had £25 profit from Samsung for each of them. Took me 6 months to sell them for £110 each. Nobody was interested in paying more for it. With the gift card, maybe it is worth getting it, but otherwise, at £150, it is overpriced. You can find better soundbars, don't fall for it just because the price looks high. (edited)

Just got it this morning and all setup. Banging for the money, upgraded my 12 year old 1080p Toshiba so it's a huge improvement.

The OS is pretty snappy , not too different from the fire stick I already had. Great deal!

Can you tell me please what it measures left to right (not the diagonal)

I have had a 50" BUSH Full HD TV since 2016, used many hours a day, picture as good as day one, no dead pixels and very good surround sound with tons of audio options.. nice contrast with very good blacks! I am very happy with it.. just saying in case anyone doubts the brand

50601012-CLfn2.jpgGreat post. You can sign up for Argos newsletter for a £5 off and it works even if not first order to get it for under £224.99. Takes a few minutes for the email with code to come through but works. (edited)

I bought this TV for my parents about 2 years ago (think it was about £349). Pretty decent tv, good picture quality. They don’t use the smart features or remote because they have sky Q. Overall can’t complain at all

Not sure how Bush are these days but my previous 2 back in the 2000s was pants and both eventually stopped working

The TVs today are made by Vestel. The TVs are from the same production line as Toshiba, Hitachi, and even some of the lower end Panasonic TVs.

They aren’t fantastic, but they’re very good value for money and give you a decent picture without spending loads of money.

I have a Vestel TV I bought in 2012 to a friend a while back and it’s still going strong for him now. So reliability is also good imo.

If you need to know more about the tv, search back in this app a couple of years for a 58" Bush basically the same tv. Loads of happy customers there. Also note no Bluetooth on this TV. Fantastic bargain this! (edited)

I had the 2021 version of this TV for £299 so this is a great deal. The sound has no bass so make sure you get a sound bar for it. Also there is no app for Disney + so you have to use a fire stick or something else. The apps are kept up to date but don't expect any apps to get added to it.

we got this earlier this morning, really great picture and sound quality,

Perfect for people with impaired vision or those who don't are remotely worried about poor image quality
  13. ALAN_JACKSONpWU's avatar
This better than a panasonic px50 inch plasma from 2006
    John59's avatar
In honesty, probably not, picture quality-wise, this will be 4K but the contrast will be worse and you won't get that brilliant Plasma picture. You will likely save a fortune on electric.
  14. stingersplash's avatar
It's very cheap but probably too cheap for me. And a bit too big. I need a 50" TV for around 300 quid that is suitable for gaming.

TCL are the way to go, fantastic value for money.
Got my Daughter a 43" for £190 late last year and got my parents a 65" last week for £400, both have superb picture quality and they aren't even the QLED ones which are even better.

Most - if not all - of their ranges have a 'game mode' (bascially gets rid of a lot of the post processing features that cause some input lag). (edited)

How do you rearrange or remove apps from the Home screen on this one?

Can we also customise the uttons on the remote? I think I saw a notification about it but it quickly disappeared.

Btw, the Smart Centre app works quite well as a remote and touchpad in the browser (edited)
    chancooluk's avatar
Press the home button, use up and down to go to the 'TV' option, then select 'Edit Home'.
  16. preecey's avatar
Heat added as this is incredibly cheap for a big TV.

Of course, it ain't OLED, and is most definitely made by Vestel - but £230 for a 58" TV?

    Wow.
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
I won't knock cheap TV's again after having issues after 2 years with a much more expensive Samsung TV . Then finding out loads of others have had similar issues of TV's failing withing a short time and Samsung refusing to accept responsibility.

Samsung tries to make their stuff just as cheaply as other manufacturers to keep costs down.
I believe Samsung trade on their name as people believe they are buying high quality.
I bet many of these cheap TV's have outlasted TV's double the price.
  17. Ewen_Bruce's avatar
Do not, and I can't emphasize this enough, commit to a big, cheap Bush; you will ultimately be disappointed. (edited)

That's a lot of screen for the money.

Not the greatest brand but an ex-girlfriend of mine used to have a big Bush in her bedroom which had decent performance and was going strong for years. I think it partially comes down to luck but also depends on whether they get heavily used or not. Hopefully for light, daily use this one should prove OK.

We had one for 6 years, 50" 1080p, it was excellent vfm around the same price point as this

Great deal only If you can find one locally.
    sazal's avatar
I found 6 different locations locally.....its not one of those hard to find typical argos deals.
  21. cicobuff's avatar
I wonder how many nits that bush has got, on closer inspection a big bush like this might be lacking in HDR brightness.

Typical useless Argos not posting any proper specifications on their website, just pictures, no wonder Argos Clearance Bargains stores are teeming with bush tvs all the time...customer returns.

No user manual on Argos own 'Bush' website either.
    Ewen_Bruce's avatar
When I'm looking at a big Bush, I'm basically hoping for zero nits

I eagerly await the day where every new build British home has one wall of the living room made entirely of a huge flatscreen TV, can't be long now. Barratt homes, get on it. (edited)
    sheffield788's avatar
In a typical British house you barely have room to have a small sofa delivered upstairs. That is way smaller than an 100 inch+ TV. I think we need different planning/building permission rules.
  24. RecessionBuster's avatar
I bought this one but Toshiba branded 3 years ago for £299 in Tesco (Black Friday deal). It's basic but still working which is OK for such a cheap product.
Main inconvenience - very limited on apps and no Disney+.
But it works well as a wireless display so we run apps from the phone.
    Nicolas's avatar
Important is what’s the pic quality like?
In terms of apps and all that a 20 quid fire stick will sort that side
  25. Quad's avatar
How is this a basic TV? Its a smart TV & 58" with 4k & wifi. Thats not basic. Its all you need. Its a basic brand but not basic TV. The problem is how long will it keep going compared to say Sony TVs.
    cicobuff's avatar
It is a basic 4K TV in comparison to the likes of QLED, local/micro dimming etc tech that is incorporated in any 4K LCD TV that has picture vibrancy and enough nits to make HDR worthwhile. It is not necessarily all you need, but that is dependent on your own view of picture quality and why better tech exists in making LCD pop, and then you have OLED, it is not just the brand that makes a TV 'basic' or not. We have a 'basic' brand TCL TV in the bedroom, it is QLED and has fairly decent Onkyo speaker drivers, it is only 50" but costs £100 more than this, as expected, as it is QLED.

    Luv a big bush....
  27. sheffield788's avatar
Very cheap indeed. But I'd rather go with Hisense 55 inch. On sale, they are about £270-330. I know this one is bigger and cheaper, but if you find the Hisense at £270, I think that's a better buy. Voted hot BTW, good price for a large TV. (edited)
    KamilB's avatar
what makes it better? I'm asking as I don't know much about TVs
  28. robbp's avatar
need a couple of tvs for a office renovation and was looking at the hisense 50 inch but thats now out of stock at amazon. we only need to connect laptops etc to them as displays, this shoudl be easily good enough

Would this be OK for my shed just to bang a firestick in n watch football?

    Yep

Based on past experience would never buy a Bush any product. Cheap tat - couldn't pay me to take one. Not voted as I know this is a good price but in this instance i think you get what you pay for.

Fantastic deal for a 58". If the OS is slow, you can always get a firestick 4k max & use that with it
    Mooney70's avatar
Currently using my firestick 4K max with my 15 year old sharp tv all is good. The speakers on my sharp tv are better than a lot of the modern day smart tvs. Hence, why I'm still happy to use it. (edited)

How does this compare to the £129 Toshiba TV from Amazon? I managed to get one of those but ultimately wanted something bigger, so might go with this instead
    Alex_H's avatar
The Toshiba is the better TV on paper and likely in person too. All this has over it, as you said, is size.
