How did you the NHS discount?

It may just be my luck but there is a confirmed design flaw with PCB connecting wire in fridge door, over time it is being nipped and eventually cuts through wire needing replaced. But good luck with your choice.

I just checked my basket..and I have this exact model which I want to buy...has a good score on which? Now.. because of YOU I have second thoughts.... (mad)

These are rubbish. Maybe OK for £16 but still pretty bad overall. Posted in a similar deal recently for the same product. I used to own these and ended up throwing them out because they are bulky and the sound is not good. You can get better sound out of speakers a fraction of the size such as the Anker soundcore mini 2 (or similar), which also stereo pair. Here's my thoughts: Yes, these do stereo pair - so one L and one R speaker. However, this is fiddly to set up. Once it works it should just work, but I did have to re-pair once in a while when they stopped playing ball. The speakers are big. They are at least as big as normal desktop PC speakers, if not bigger. In general, the sound is 'meh' and kinda fine for cheap speakers - but not good by any means. Sounds very shallow and not very detailed. I would be ok with calling them 'fine', but given the size of the units - it's actually shockingly bad. Other smaller mini bluetooth speakers I've owned sound multiple times better, even though they have smaller drivers. There are also issues with low volume inputs - when there is a quiet moment, or a pause in what you're listening to - they cut out and can take a second to start playing again. The workaround for this is to have your phone / input volume turned up all the way all the time. Even then, it's not always guaranteed to be ok. There is a delay in sound too, so these aren't suitable for watching videos or movies, unless you enjoy out of sync audio and video. Finally, these also have a lot of background noise / static / fuzziness you can hear when playing any audio. It's not too noticeable when you turn up the volume on the input (phone etc), but it's there and you can hear it when the music gets quieter or you have your phone volume lower. Overall, it's cheap but not good. I wouldn't buy it - however, I guess it might be acceptable at this price. Having said that, I would recommend alternative stereo Bluetooth speakers (Anker do some great mini, or larger ones which are on offer sometimes). Or if it suits your use case, just get some decent wired desktop speakers instead for a similar price.

Why would it?

Id have thought Sainsburys owning Argos would be a clue

Who ever designed this really had a bad day. I bought 2 of these and returned them the next day. The clock it too bright for the bedroom, and the clock radio goes from min to max volume in about 30 seconds, so not good at 5.30 in the morning. 👎

The 2.4<>5 thing is when your android device is on 5 and your smart home thing is on 2.4. That can cause problems when setting things up. You are correct that those immunosuppressed can't handle some vaccines and just have to do without until a better one comes along. But as your own immune system will kill you if it isn't suppressed, that's a fair trade off.

It was the Bush's hotspot that was weak...as seen by my phone. We have loads of smart devices on the network (2 kids) and it's a bit disorganised...virgin router and Asus Router acting as a hotspot (can't get the virgin router to relinquish DHCP control)..so there's 2 devices creating 2.4 and 5GHz hotspots. It's a mess but it works fine...maybe up until now. Hadn't though of scanning for the device or checking on the AP. I haven't heard of the "2.4 5GHz thing' you mentioned...will google.btw...i did move it into the room where the routers are. When a vaccine comes along will you be able to have it? Or will it be to strong?

It's not the old 2.4<> 5 Wifi networks thing that causes problems to attaching so many other smart devices, is it? Have you checked the router or scanned your LAN to find out if the speaker has actually acquired a LAN IP address? My nearest AP (to which my tablet was wifi linked) is only across the room from the speaker, loads of signal, and the speaker connected to it without any problems. It may not manage as well as a phone/tablet at long range. Once working, if I unplugged it and moved it, it reconnected without problem - but didn't connect to the last radio station, which was as expected but tiresome. I had planned to add a battery... Good luck. Yep, I am trying to look after myself - but it does rather feel that the virus only has to get lucky once. If not this year, then maybe its mutant next year or the year after. It's a fine balance between living no life at all and having no life to live.

Thanks for the response. I can find the hotspot from the speaker and u e the software to find my home network and give it the password...it just can't connect to my home network. Tried loads of times. Resetting in between tries...you have to. I'll try the other one (bought two).. There might be a fault with the first...it's hotspot does look very weak from my phone indicator. If I can't get them onto my home network then I'll return them as this is the reason I bought them...I don't need another Bluetooth receiver... Especially not a big one. If I can get one connected I'll open it up and prod about for an audio signal. Go careful with that transplant in these times matey.

Yes, I did buy one. It took several tries before the hotspot appeared. Resetting it seemed to do the trick. It then worked fine for quite a while. Huge range of radio stations on the application. Then I went off doing something else and when I came back, it was silent (slight hiss, holding it to my ear on full volume, so the speaker and audio amp etc are working). I can replicate everything - I can reset it, reconnect to the hotspot, feed in its password, connect to an internet radio station. It all appears to be working as it should but no sound. No sound on bluetooth either. Or on direct input. (Other than the slight hiss, mentioned before). So, it looks like I was wrong about the audio in socket just switching out the rest and connecting the audio in to the audio amp. Or it's the first stage of that audio amp has failed. So, I'd suggest giving it another go - it did take me several tries. The sound wasn't that bad. I've heard worse. I wasn't planning to use it as anything other than a receiver. I might still keep it and open it up and fault find and modify it. Argos aren't being very helpful : I have a transplant so am stuck in the house until July and can't post it until then. It's not something urgent enough to ask a friend/neighbour/relative to take the risk for me.

I bought one it lasted no time, actually died the week after warranty ran out. To be fair it was a short term buy and a deal but it's put me off the brand. Had an aeg since and it's been great

I’ve been really happy with my washing machine. I’ve got a 10kg 1400 spin version. It’s been far better than my Maytag that the bush replaced as we needed a quick reasonably priced replacement. Pleasant surprise and would buy another! I’m pretty sure most of the “bush” branded machines are Beko. It’s about what you can afford at the time I suppose dictates what brand you go for

I'm not sure if the door is meant to close by itself, my Beko does not but it does have an alarm.

Bought one a few months ago direct from Argos for £194. It's fairly slim and compact and has worked well since purchase BUT the fridge door is not counter-weighted to close on its own, so you have to make sure it's shut every time you open it, and sometimes you can forget. Stainless steel looks silver ? Who knew

All these cheap stainless steel ones look like silver in the flesh, you have to pay a lot more for a proper stainless steel model?

This fridge freezer is sold under various brand names around the £400 mark. Ours was badged as a Kenwood when we bought it from Currys. Also sold as Haier, I think. We've had it for about 3 years with no problems. Only down side is that the freezer side is mostly shelves, not drawers, and it's bit harder to keep tidy and find stuff if you jam it full of stuff like we do. It's good value at this price. Measure your doors carefully though because it is pretty big and the delivery staff will probably charge extra if they have to remove it's doors to get it in your kitchen - £10 surcharge from Currys they said. We had to use the patio doors.

It does come with a two year guarantee, so if it breaks they will either replace it or fix it.
