I received the Thailand one 2TB dated 2023-07. I would prefer an SSD running cooler (laptop use). Also, read somewhere that the first drives (2019) were running cooler (Korea-made), and then in 2021 or so they used (not sure if permanently or for short-term) slower components that run hotter (and were China-made).
This Thailand one is a surprise to me. If I open the box and check the chips I will have to keep it. Hate this chip lottery, had this with Xiaomi phones too.
I guess I can't tell what Controller is on board without opening it. I want Phoenix, not the Elpis version.
