If you are looking to tackle some heavy-duty home renovations, this SDS Plus hammer drill is ideal.

With four functions to choose from, which can be switched between easily via the rotary switch, it will allow you to tackle a variety of jobs.

For instance, the impact drilling function will give you a maximum drilling power of 20mm into concrete for breaking up masonry. With an impact strength of 2.2J it is extremely powerful, but Einhell have also equipped this drill with a comfortable grip as well as keeping the weight down. This adds up to a corded power tool that is both effective and comfortable to use over prolonged periods of use.

To ensure a longer service life the overload slipping clutch protects the rotary hammer from damage if it becomes jammed or if it is overloaded. For user friendliness the trigger is equipped with a speed control, so you can work to your preference, and the depth stop allows you to set the desired drilling depth with ease. So you can get to work right away this SDS drill is supplied with three drill bits and a flat chisel.

"If you are looking to tackle some heavy-duty home renovations, this SDS Plus hammer drill is ideal. In particular it will prove useful for breaking up driveways......"

Seems like a great deal for an SDS drill but anyone buying it to break up a driveway may be disappointed

51632924_1.jpgReceived today. It is uk plug and comes with 3 drill bits and chisel in plastic tube (edited)

Far too flimsy to break up driveways.
Its might take off tiles or render or remove pointing.
    light duty. Not heavy duty.
And that not hating on the brand even a Makita or Bosch one wouldn't tickle a drive.

Drives are for jackhammers. Nobody in their right mind would use an SDS drill for that kind of work. Unless you want to spend weeks doing it.

    Bought this. Thanks OP.

It is, although it should come with UK plug as a standard. I believe they used a generic photo as Einhell is a German brand.

For £30 this is fantastic. It's perfect for drilling holes in masonry and light chiselling. It's obviously unsuitable for breaking up a driveway.

I have some old drill bits but it won't fit this. Would I need an adaptor or something?
    LetsTalkTools's avatar
Why not get a set of SDS drills, they will probably be cheaper than an adapter and in any case you really need to use drills with SDS shanks to get the benefit of the way an SDS drill works.

There are chuck adapters but they are for use when hammer action is off, when using an auger bit in wood or something like that.
