Seiko Watch Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph 40th Anniversary Limited Edition SFJ005P1. Speedtimer Solar Chronograph
The Speedtimer Prospex watch collection represents Seiko’s professional timekeeping heritage and takes inspiration from the brand’s innovative history.
This particular limited-edition design is powered by a new in-house solar chronograph calibre equipped with a stopwatch which measures time to the nearest 1/100th of a second.
Its limited edition run of just 4,000 pieces worldwide commemorates the 40th anniversary of Seiko’s world-first analogue quartz chronograph, the 7A28, from 1983. Its shares the same black bezel, and khaki-grey dial colour as the first 1/100th second chronograph from 1992. It features a similar bracelet to the original, with its recognisable black strip through the centre.
Becoming official timekeeper for Tokyo’s 1964 Olympics was a turning point in Seiko’s history when the brand began making precisely accurate professional sports timing instruments, with no prior experience. This legacy continues today as Seiko is the IAAF Official Timekeeper since 1985, supplying timing and measurement services to more than 180 World Athletics events in every corner of the globe.
The Black subdials and khaki coloured dial of this particular timepiece achieve visibility and legibility due to its separate indicators for time and chronograph functions. Conveniently solar-powered; the watch charges from both natural and electric light.
The hammer-shaped button allows for easier operability of the stopwatch function. This model is powered by the in-house built Solar chronograph calibre 8A50 that allows measurement to the nearest one-hundredth of a second.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

It’s awful sorry and I’m a big Seiko fan - they’re just knocking too much out at present

Doesn't look like a £600 watch. If it was £60 I still wouldn't pull the trigger. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but my goodness, black on brown. 🤮
