After giving the UK snapdragon chipsets in all 3 S23s last year, on the S24 they've went back to their inferior Exynos chip in this and the +, only the S24 Ultra has the Snapdragon.
    cantonbean's avatar
Yeah you’d be mad to get this over the S23!

Doesn't seem to bad of deal! Any reason not to buy if you have S23 256GB?
    Msx98's avatar
Yes, and I may well be wrong but I'd wait and see. Only the s24 ultra has the snapdragon chip and recent history and personal experience says that the if the exynos in the s24/+ is like the s22 exynos then battery life is so poor as to negate any upgrade. Like I said I'd be happy to be proven wrong

£50 off codes are coming through now

£1011 in perks with no trade in, free watch, screen protector and case, 24 Ultra 512gb. (edited)
    yj.fz's avatar
How do u get case and protector?
  7. Sully1's avatar
I have Samsung S23. With trade i, I can get S24 for £319. Is it worth it despite the exynos etc?

worth getting S24 by trading in S23 for total of £319? (edited)

I wouldn't make the jump from the S23 To S24 personally.
  8. xT-g-K's avatar
Definitely wait on trade-in. I paid £750 for my S23 Ultra last year with a combination of codes and trade in.
    clownfish's avatar
Do you mean enhances trade in?
  9. dazzo1971's avatar
Why does it say get 512gb for the price of 256gb but when you press on the onyx black its £100 dearer am I doing something wrong.
    sivilis3d's avatar
It's confusing but the price for the 512gb is the price for 256gb, it's just they've marked down the price of the 256gb as well to the price of the 128gb so you are looking at the wrong price.

    So under this promotion:

    128gb: £1249
    256gb: £1249 (real price: £1349)
    512gb: £1349 (real price: £1549) (edited)

what am i doing wrong here, mine shows at £799.....using the s24GW code.....
    Noveed's avatar
The code should give a free watch not discount the device. To get the cheaper price you need to go through via EPP or a Work Perk scheme or Blue Light or Student Discount
  11. DBDB's avatar
Looks like you can get the same deal via blue light card. Apologies if that's already been mentioned.
    dazzo1971's avatar
So how much can you actually get this for please using the blue light card which my son has got one.
  12. blackaqua's avatar
Use S24SAVE , £319 with an S23 for an example trade in

Edit, well that was quick, looks to have been disabled now. (edited)
    Zafir's avatar
It probably still works but it doesn't stack with trade in. If you already have a trade in selected it won't let you enter the code. You can add a trade in after entering the code but as already mentioned it doesn't seem to stack, so there's no point. (edited)

Too early to dismiss these phones as slow battery draining space heaters but based on my experience with Exynos I'll never purchase a product that uses it.
Main reason I bought an S23 Ultra is because they're using SD8G2 and it's brilliant. Never used 100% of the battery in one day
    michalko's avatar
Same here with s23 standard. I get full day battery life. If I stretch it - 2 days
  14. ZainRaz's avatar
Does anyone ever pay full price for Samsung products?
    James.Howlett's avatar
More importantly, does anyone complain ?
  15. nosluom's avatar
I think it's so poor on Samsung's behalf that they've gone back to Exynos for the S24 and S24+ for Europe, I thought we'd seen the back of that last year with the S23. Really is getting shafted compared to regions getting the snapdragon in all models
    yuri9's avatar
Hopefully they'll switch to Snapdragon next year.
  16. reggea86's avatar
Unfortunately this will not track the 15% Topcashback, only through the regular website, where you also can use the 10% ref code make it £612ish.If you also have the £50 off then it would reduce to £562 at total without trade in but then you can sell the watch and band to Cex for another £100 is so you will have an S24 252gb for around £462+12 month Disney Plus+£30 store credit…Now what many us want to se is a battery test vs s23 and an overall performance test vs the 15 pro.Trade in values are quiet ridiculous though.

Still don’t think is very fair from Samsung giving a 10-20% “weaker” Exynos equipped phone to Europe instead of the SD8 gen3 version for the same price. The Exynos 2400 is hardly any “better” than the SD8 gen2.So I am wondering if people actually should get this phone or go for the S23 instead.

    Pre tests shows :

Battery life on SD8 gen3 is 8% better than on the Exynos 2400.
The overall performance is aroun 8-15% better on the SD chip.
No WiFi 7 on Exynos 2400.
I guess the heat will be higher on the in-house chip as well.

If you have an s23 do not upgrade!
I heard Samsung might release a compact 6-6.2” of the Ultra in the future. (edited)

15% cashback tracked for me on student store from TCB. I got the s24 plus with a 15% student discount, then £410 off with my s23 trade in (I wanted a bigger screen) and with 15% TCB it came to £370 for the 512gb model since they are offering free double storage. The watch is also a nice throw in since ive been wanting a smart watch too. compared to s23 the s24plus has 4gb more ram, faster UFS 4.0 storage, more base storage, 1440p display, LTPO display so 1-120hz, 45w charging and bigger battery. Ultimately a really good upgrade for me despite it being exynos

but for base s24 it isn't worth it at all (edited)

so are we just rebranding already existing features to slap the word ai next to it this year? was looking forward to upgrade from a regular S22 but this is a joke
    Feargal's avatar
Doesn't seem much of an upgrade from a S23 IMO especially as S23 has snapdragon chipset.

Got the S24 for £450 with codes and trading in my S20 #winning.
    g8spur's avatar
    Which codes?
  22. i003z15's avatar
Can anyone comment on the trade-in? Are they very picky on phone condition. I want to trade in my s21+ which I think is in very good condition. But who knows?
Also, is using their return envelope safe or do phones tend to get lost by carrier?
    TheFlyingDonut's avatar
Before sending it off I'd personally take pictures / video of the device, ensure the imei number shows on the screen aswell, I've sent a few devices in to them using their returns label and have had no issues with the devices reaching them.

It's early days but this German article did a battery test on the exynos variant and the results seems positive -
    chip.de/news/Kleine-Schritte-nach-vorne-Das-Samsung-Galaxy-S24-Plus-Ultra-im-ersten-Testfazit_185114289.html

    Google translate -
"We also have initial results regarding battery life. Our current test devices all lasted longer in the 60 Hertz test than their S23 counterparts. In the case of the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, it's even up to an hour and a half longer.

Specifically, the pixels on the Galaxy S24 went out after 15:59 hours in the test . The S24 Ultra follows after 16:40 hours , while the S24 Plus holds the current best time with an impressive 17:48 hours ." - (edited)
    low_level_devel's avatar
I was worried to start with, but taken them punt...tbh, my S23 doesn't make it the full day anyway.
  24. raich333's avatar
Ok so ive got my £50 code now.
Can I get bluelight discount as well through the nhs link does anyone know (I think its 15% off)

So £50 code , 15% off NHS, plus S24GW code for the watch, case, protector and £30 store credit

Maybe a cashback website too - or is that too much to hope for?
    OiWesty's avatar
Topcashback worked for me with BLC. £28.?? ISH.
  25. fishmaster's avatar
45W charging again! Dear God Samsung why?
    geowars2's avatar
It's to protect the longevity of the batteries. There's no getting away from the fact that faster charging causes more degradation. Other manufacturers simply care less about it.
  26. bonjwa's avatar
Is it snapdragon for UK version ?
    quake.ee's avatar
S24 and S24+ are on Exynos, Ultra is on SD8 gen3.

As per live chat with Samsung for those who have not received a code:

'Thank you for providing your details. Regarding to the voucher code we will contact you within 24 hours. Rest assured that you will receive the code if you sign up for pre-register.'

'Rest assured that you will receive the voucher code, and you can still pre-order the S24 Ultra until 30th of January.'
    gazt1888's avatar
You have to buy before the 25th though if you want the watch

Glad I grabbed the S23 earlier this month on a really good deal with some code stacking, cashback etc had kept it sealed in the event the S24 deals were good so I could return it but no any phone trade in or additional cashback, ps exynos...disappointing, time to unseal the S23. (edited)
    michalko's avatar
Agreed! Even if this was £500, the s23 I got was £429 + buds + Disney plus. Let's see if exynos is any better. How would you return after 14 days? (edited)
