I actually found that the cardboard reels absorb allot of water. I came back from holiday and found I had an ams fill of brittle material because of these reels.. BE WARNED

Cardboard reels may not be the main cause leading your filament absorb more moisture. The environment where you store your filament is.

In fact the cardboard reel itself acts like a desiccant which helps absorb surrounding moisture from your humid environment which in turn slows down the filament moisture absorption.

Trust me I'm an engineer working in the moisture control industry.

Their pla layer adhesion is so bad, but their pla+ is great

That usually means you just need to up the temperature or lower the speed.
Always do a temperature tower before using on a project when you get a different make/type of filament.

Sorry, I am new to this and recently brought the AnkerMake M5C. I figured it might be like standard printers where each manufacturer has a different cartridge, is that not the case? Will any filament work with these types of 3d printers? Sorry for the stupid question.

Yes, any make will work. You should read up on different filament types (PLA, PETG, TPU etc) though. And also how to calibrate your slicer/printer for new filaments.

If only it came on plastic reels for my AMS

You can print plastic rims for the ESun spools, there are several versions on Makerworld. Or respool with a Pastamatic.

Cold white is my favorite white filament and this is an absolute bargain. Hot hot hot

    Ordered it after your comment.
I love Sunlu APLA Cream White (A=Anti String). It's like Matte but without being matte.
Prints perfectly and looks great. (edited)

Seems reviews for this are not the greatest. Fine for functional parts like brackets, but not for display items. I was about to pull the trigger on purple, but pointless if the end product will be bad.

52357795-v4AUY.jpgThis is the PLA Lite from an X1C. It's a smoother finish than the Bambu PLA Basic and less than half the price. It was a bit tricky to set up at first, but now I have the profile dialed in, I can recommend.

eSun seem to be having these sales quite often over the last couple of months.

Amazing price, worth bearing in mind its PLA Lite, not the best if you need any sort of strength, really good for flying models. Never had much issue with eSun filament, the matte white is my go to general purpose filament.

Afaik the term “Lite” here doesn’t mean it weighs less - it’s just a cheaper product

I've got eSUN filament. It seems pretty decent so for £11/kg this is a good price. I'd be happy to pay £15

Great deal - if it wasn’t for the fact I’ve got about 30 rolls sitting in a cupboard I would buy some !

    ONLY 30?

    Awesome!

Don't tempt me I don't need anymore reels.
  13. rsprowse's avatar
Cheers. Bought 3 reels so gonna need a bigger dry box

Awesome. I have black pla, so I've ordered the white and grey to have a crack at some hueforge stuff on my p1s

Received purple today. Colour is great but cardboard spool is all wonky and massive. Put electrical tape on edges and into AMS. Prints OK but lines are really visible. Quite disappointed to be honest. Put my 16 min benchy to print which I do with each new color/brand spool as reference for future and compred to other filaments I have I can see lines more here. Bambu X1C. All nice and smooth and perfect print, but...
    jonboyuk's avatar
What settings did you use? Just the same as standard Bambu pla?

    Order 2. Nice find. Heat

I wonder if anyone can tell me if this will work with Bambu Lab A1 Mini. I'm a newbie to 3D printing.
    petar.ivanov's avatar
I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t. Go for it

Since I went to MPLA I'd never go back to PLA if / when I can avoid it, it is slightly more expensive, but it is just so much better to work with and the temperature stability of the items produced is far superior. For the sake of a fiver per kg...

    Good price op

Cheaping out on filament is often a false economy imho, but equally, expensive doesn't Equal performance either, not here though. Some brand name filaments are god awful (I'm looking at you verbatim ABS), but some cheaper ones are great. Sunlu and esun are the most common manufacturers I use currently, not all have been great, but some products are absolute gems.

I didn't realise there were so many fellow printers on here Anyone else print at work as well as just play? (edited)

Can you recommend some mpla? And where to buy from? Thanks
