Word of advice they ALWAYS break after around 13 months, so get extended warranty (3 of mine broke juat after warranty)

Grabbed the 3 Years cover for £10

EDIT - the one star reviews don’t inspire confidence - may check out Tefal. (edited)

I’ve got the same iron. Not great if I’m honest.

How do people feel these irons fair against the steam generator ones?

Seems like the expensive irons are no more reliable than the cheaper ones.

I got the "Philips Perfect Care 3000" two weeks ago. I'm not an experienced user but I found it smooth and easy to use. The steam works well too. I went over some fabric rubber and it stuck to the iron plate. It looked like it was difficult to remove, but with some salt and vinegar it came right off; the plate as new. I can't fault it.

I hope it wasn't because of my comment. Plastic will burn and stick under any hot iron. The beauty is it will wipe right off without damaging the plate. Of course, if you use a very abrasive sponge (like the green one), it will scrape the protective layer too. Some people have little common sense. It's an excellent iron.
