Oh look, another full fibre company that does not operator in my area. I have full fibre to the house and non of these deals are relevant.

So frustrating. We've been waiting for Hyperoptic to install locally for years, they arrived 2 weeks ago... and not a deal to be found.

Keep in mind, if you want to terminate your contract earlier because you move to a different location, they will charge you exit fees, even if they don't have coverage in the new area. Never had this from any other provider.

Virgin did this to me when I moved to an area they didn't cover

The only complaint I have about them is some of their IP range seems to have previously been assigned to a Romanian company so some websites refuse to load the UK version of the site. They then charge you £5 a month for a static IP. Other than that fantastic service. (edited)

Had the same with Community Fibre, where a lot of pages seen me as from Netherlands. That was very annoying

As with all these previous too good to be true hyperoptic deals, they're only available to a tiny percentage of the hyperoptic network. I don't get why they get so much heat as hardly anyone can get it.

Brilliant deal op and one I’ve been waiting for as they send me offers in the mail but I’ve yet to use it. Is there another code as it didn’t work for me?

I was using them for three years in Preston. Now, I moved a mile away and they are not available.

Ahh, another deal from the Londonoptic company

Nice, but that code - GREETINGS24 - doesnt work for me. This code was useable a while back right? Why would they reactivate the same code?

I have had HyperOptic since August 2023. It's brilliant! I have not called them once for any issues since the Installation.

You better hope you never have to contact them, the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time

I am on HyperOptic in Liverpool and it's great. Sadly they want match this or any offers for existing clients. Oh well!
    Cl0udGuy's avatar
Whereabouts in Liverpool are they. Hopefully they are expanding the network in Liverpool and I can use them soon!

On the page it says “Offer ends 27 February 2024 and is subject to Hyperoptic’s Residential Customer Terms of Service, is open to new customers only using promo code GREETINGS24 at checkout and is subject to availability.” - OUT OF DATE offer I believe

Enjoying seeing these deals. Looking forward when these other providers get bigger and put Virgin media out of business

the code isn't available in my new area, why do they limit the area? If not I may just go with virgin.
    boble's avatar
Don't go to Virgin if you have a good alternative.

Prices aside - which one between CF and HO has better service and hardware quality? In theory CF has an edge with FTTH over cat 5 cables HO has to use to your home?

What is their average upload speed?
    parpenbhwarg's avatar
The connection speed is symmetric so download and upload speeds are up to 1Gbps in either direction.

I’m with Hyperoptic so taken a sample from my rclone upload log which moves things to Google Drive:

    Transferred: 8.542 GiB / 16.117 GiB, 53%, 82.094 MiB/s, ETA 1m34s
    Checks: 4 / 7, 57%
    Deleted: 2 (files), 0 (dirs)
    Renamed: 2
    Transferred: 2 / 5, 40%
    Elapsed time: 2m0.4s

Is hyperoptic better than community fibre?

So annoyed I’ve only just renewed my contract with them a couple months ago. I have to say by far the best internet provider you’ll get 10/10 from the coverage to the customer service
  22. craig_martin's avatar
Use them in glasgow for over 4 years and.not had one single issue, house move with them was seamless too
  23. Cam10794's avatar
I only have virgin that do anything above 67mb in my area what can I do as an alternative as I’m leaving them? I can’t use this
    anthony_brown10's avatar
I believe Mr Musk has his star link network up and running but it has high up front costs and quite a large monthly fee worth if you are out in the boonies I guess. Usually with Virgin you have to play the put me through to retention team game. We were with them for years decent speed but so so customer service.

Hyperoptic contract deals seem to be a loss leader to attract new customers, they hike the price as soon as you’re out of contract and refuse to offer any discounts to renew.

Please heed my advice and don't sign up with this company.

I moved into a new build, and there was a Hyperoptic box "preinstalled" (in quotes becuase it wasn't actually attached to the wall, it was sat on the floor, with a big hole in my brand new wall where it should have been installed).

Yes, that should have been a warning to not sign up with them, but I was an idiot and was attracted by their prices.

I work in IT, often have to work out of hours, and require an internet connection . Hyperoptic promised they could meet an install date the day we were moving into the house. Of course, that day came and went, and we had no broadband for weeks.

When you're not a customer you call the number and you're put straight through to someone in sales. When you've signed up, the same sales people who sold you the product refuse to talk to you, putting you through to the support line. There's basically nobody manning this line. You'll be on hold for an hour before the call drops, no matter what time you call.

You email and get an autoresponse saying they aim to answer all enquiries but there's a backlog (5 days the last time I emailed). They respond and ask for more info, and you're back waiting again, for another 5 days.

What use is that? Imagine your internet connection going down and you literally have nobody to contact, for days, maybe even weeks, on end.

They reeled me in with a cheap price that was listed on here, that price eventually nearly doubled. I think by this stage I just had Stockholm syndrome and blindly accepted their shenanigans.

They sent me a cheap 4g hub that I didn't need nor want, then tried to charge me £170 for not returning it despite the fact I had sent it back to them. The same hub on Amazon sells for £20.

They're just a horrible company to deal with. The worst customer service I've ever encountered. There's a reason they're cheap. Go with someone else (ANYONE else!).

Trust me, you'll seriously regret signing up with these clowns! (edited)
