I moved into a new build, and there was a Hyperoptic box "preinstalled" (in quotes becuase it wasn't actually attached to the wall, it was sat on the floor, with a big hole in my brand new wall where it should have been installed).
Yes, that should have been a warning to not sign up with them, but I was an idiot and was attracted by their prices.
I work in IT, often have to work out of hours, and require an internet connection . Hyperoptic promised they could meet an install date the day we were moving into the house. Of course, that day came and went, and we had no broadband for weeks.
When you're not a customer you call the number and you're put straight through to someone in sales. When you've signed up, the same sales people who sold you the product refuse to talk to you, putting you through to the support line. There's basically nobody manning this line. You'll be on hold for an hour before the call drops, no matter what time you call.
You email and get an autoresponse saying they aim to answer all enquiries but there's a backlog (5 days the last time I emailed). They respond and ask for more info, and you're back waiting again, for another 5 days.
What use is that? Imagine your internet connection going down and you literally have nobody to contact, for days, maybe even weeks, on end.
They reeled me in with a cheap price that was listed on here, that price eventually nearly doubled. I think by this stage I just had Stockholm syndrome and blindly accepted their shenanigans.
They sent me a cheap 4g hub that I didn't need nor want, then tried to charge me £170 for not returning it despite the fact I had sent it back to them. The same hub on Amazon sells for £20.
They're just a horrible company to deal with. The worst customer service I've ever encountered. There's a reason they're cheap. Go with someone else (ANYONE else!).
Trust me, you'll seriously regret signing up with these clowns! (edited)
