About this deal

£5 more than the last deal but still worth a share. Usually £79 RRP - hoping those who missed it last time can nab this!

Unfortunately, GAME charges £4.99 for shipping, but if you’ve got an account with them, you may have some rewards points you can use OR!! (Thanks to DJSyko) If you do pay £4.99 to click and collect, you get a £5 voucher to use in the store, which is better than nothing when you can't avoid paying the £4.99 anyway.

Details

The year is 1926, and the Roaring Twenties are in full swing. Flappers dance until dawn in smoke-filled speakeasies, sipping rum runners' and the mob's alcohol. In the aftermath of the War to End All Wars, it's a celebration to end all celebrations. In the city of Arkham, however, a terrible shadow is growing.

Ancient Ones are alien beings that lurk in the void beyond space and time, writhing at the world's borders. Before the Ancient Ones make our world their damaged kingdom, occult practices must be stopped and extraterrestrial species exterminated. Only a few investigators stand in the way of the Arkham Horror. Will they be victorious?

Arkham Horror (Third Edition) is a cooperative board game in which they play as investigators tasked with ridding the world of eldritch entities known as Ancient Ones.

Based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, players will need to gather clues, combat scary monsters, and acquire tools and allies if they are to defeat the things who lurk just outside our reality's curtain.

Was going to go for this on the last deal then found out how long a game takes! Are there any other games in this series that are around the hour / hour and a half mark to play?

Try Arkham Horror: Final Hour - basically set as if you'd failed at this game and you have to stop the bad thing happening. Can be played in about 60 mins

Is there a difference in gameplay between this and Elder Sign?

Elder Sign plays a lot quicker (1-2 hours) and primarily involves using and gathering dice to resolve events. AH is the meatier game it's based on but ofc requires a lot more time to play.
