About this deal

A Tuscan red at a good price of £7.99 down from £9.49. I bought a bottle today from Fareham Aldi and later saw the offer available online as well:

This is an Aldi "dupe" of a famous expensive Tuscan red and was quite a big story on social media and the news last year. It's well rated: Decanter magazine gave it 90 points in December 2023 which on their rating system is

"90-94: Highly Recommended A very accomplished wine, with impressive complexity"

Cheap at twice the price. Get stuck in

I'm a cheap skate on wine. Don't normally push the boat out, but I love Italian wine and this sounds right up my street.

    Heat added.

Didn't realise they sold wine costing more than £5.

I saw this wine reviewed on one of the weekend cooking programs just before Christmas (when the wine was £9.99) and the opinion of the wine expert was that it was better than wines 10 times that price (no joking).
I bought a bottle at £9.99 and it is good, I have never tasted £200 wine so I can't make a comparison, but I think at £7.99 it is a bargain

Not sure where the 90 points come from, seems to be very average looking at most of the reviews, I think the social media hype was exactly that..

Probably worth a bottle at this price but I wouldnt fill your cellar with it!
