Be careful buying this one if your device doesn't have Bluetooth, no longer comes with a dongle included!

It's a nice mouse, I've had mine for a few years now, but it came with a dongle, so can keep my laptop Bluetooth off whilst I use it.

Be careful if your device does have Bluetooth but you accidentally turn it off or it stops working. I wouldn't want to be without USB backup again.

Is that really all this is, they didn't include the dongle and called it an Edition? That's pretty awful.

I've been waiting for the 3s to upgrade my old 2s. MX 3S owners: Apart from USB C Is the 3s a significant upgrade as I'm tempted to get this offer? This mouse has been brilliant over the years. ...That said USB C would be nice to have to keep things uniform.

Buttons have a nicer soft click to them. Thumb wheel and back / forward buttons better on 3S (never use them).

That's about it, for £80+ vs £40. Not worth the difference for me.

52429670_1.jpg52429670_1.jpgThe difference between this and my old MX Master 2S...I can confirm that this one does pair with my existing unifying receivers (thanks ) and it just seems to be that this one isn't painted...you get the bare matt grey plastic. So it's £50 more for some paint and a unifying receiver. I suppose they have to differentiate it somehow to reach into that mid range market. I think the painted one is much nicer to look at, but not £50 nicer. I may yet break out my airbrush anyway. (edited)

Copying my comment here - might be useful for someone:
I have two of them - was annoyed with the micro usb, but then I bought ucbc-microusb adapter for 2 pounds which is so small i don't even remove it from the mouse.

I can't reccomend this mouse, the scrolling is just TOO FAST!

You know that's adjustable, right? Right?

I like the click/non click selectable scrolling on the MX Master 2s, but not the side buttons and scroll wheel which are really awkward to use, this has been addressed nicely with the M 3s, but at quite a price premium.

For me the worse issue is how quickly the mouse buttons ware out, I had to RMA my M 2s after 11 months, and the new replacement buttons started feeling spongy about a year later too. I was able to buy a third party "Micro Switch Button Board for MX 2S" from Ebay for about £10 which wasn't too difficult to fit and still using the mouse today. I had asked Logi but they don't supply parts.

With 2 out of 2 instances of premature failed switches I might of just been unlucky, but it does somewhat put me off Logi , I would of bought the M 3s if I knew they had upgraded to more durable switches, but I haven't been able to find that out. It's not like I'm a heavy gamer, most of my use is with productivity software and I have quite a light action with keys and mouse.

One more issue, I have switched to using a hard mouse mat, I was using a cloth covered rubberised table sized mat, but my right side fingers often got pinched under the mouse. I felt it could do with a nice side board like the left side.

I got the 3s from work for the Mac back then now they have made me redundant but could keep the mouse and other equipment. Using the mouse with Linux and it works flawlessly so a great mouse all together. I wouldn’t pay RRP but this is a nice price for the 2s

Thanks OP. Ordered. I've already got a basic Logitech keyboard with their 'unifying receiver' so I'm expecting (hoping!) it will link to that.

Yes it will. It's what I'm using currently

Great mouse and good price. Paid a little less than this in prime day 2019 and still going strong after using daily at work since then.

Just an FYI - Its a terrible scroller, it has a sort of "bounceback" to it thats just wrong.

You can sort of fix it by using the clicky scroll feature, where you engage some sort of clicky friction on the scroll wheel but its not a nice feel.

Additionally. the bluetooth switch is on the bottom of the mouse and not the top, so you need to pick it up to change devices.

    I sent my one back.

I'm still rocking the old style laser M705, it's over a decade old now. Such a cracking mouse. Batteries last, no word of a lie, 5years plus, my last set went out of date before they run out of juice
Shame they revamped it, the new style is absolute garbage in comparison.

Ive Got the Mx anywhere 2, too much of a change ?
    maxtesti's avatar
not much. I sightly prefer the 'anywhere 2'. If you've big hands you might prefer the 'master 2'. I'd say the 'master 2' is maybe slightly more comfortable. It depends... but I don't think one is better than the other; both are similarly good.

I have a 3S and I can't use the Logi software and therefore most features as I'm using it through a KVM.

I ask a very silly uneducated question.. I work with a wired laser mouse, why is this better if the wire doesn't bother me?
    reckoning's avatar
Any wire affects movement, it's just unnecessary nowadays with how fast modern mice are. Kinda like asking why you'd need a wireless vacuum.

It's also just tidier and barely ever needs charging. I have 2 of these, used daily love them.

I also find the ergonomics perfect for my hands. (edited)

Ordered earlier today and it's already arrived. Been waiting for this to drop in price

This is great for older Macs that do not work with the later version of this mouse

bought one. Thanks! Just when my G700s start to fail and I don't have time to replace the click buttons.
