Some of the bricks at the front of my house as damaged. The face of them has crumbled away. Likely during cold months. Its not the mortar inbetween the but the bricks themselves. Do I need to replace or repair them or shall I just use this stuff to protect them from further damage?

Edit: here's two photos of the worst affected areas. I kinf of feel that it's mainly aesthetic and it's not major but others might think otherwise. But my initial comment about the masonry being fine isn't true in these two areas. I could probably do with repointing it?

Looks like a Victorian or Edwardian solid brick house with no cavity. Is that correct?

If it is the brickwork was originally pointed with a lime mortar and has been replaced with cement based since. Lime is breathable and soft, cement is non breathable and hard. If your pointing is harder than your brickwork then the bricks take the damage rather than the pointing, leading to spalling of the brickwork. Sealing in any moisture will make things worse over the long term. You would need to rake out the concrete and then repoint in a suitable lime based mortar.

Great product and fantastic price! I had damp proofing done 2 year ago and they recommended Stormdry.

They applied to the entire house including chimney and with the storms / heavy rain we had over winter the walls were completely dry on the outside, even after 2 years. Really happy with it and recommend!

This is good stuff repells water nicely. forms that barrier on brick work. Water use to penetrate into my garage but not now.

Great stuff, I've used lots of this in my profession and it works a treat! it won't change the colour or look of your stone or brick wall

Any idea of a 5 litre coverage please.

I've got a 1 metre by 6 metre band at ground level (DPC is fine and no damp inside) that suffers from moisture penetration and the mortar crumbles away. I need to get it repointed again first. (edited)

I could benefit from this . Does it trap the water inside the brickwork from escaping out which can create it's own problems of damp and mould. Or is it truly breathable as they claim. Just bought it hope it works (edited)

Used Cromapol to seal a corrugated garage roof (asbestos? ), worked a treat except come winter condensation drips even thought windows open.
