Unfortunately not in my area. Any good websites out there where you can view which fibre providers are in my area?

broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/ will give you possible fibre speeds for your house and then use any broadband comparison site for best price

I'm all for these newer companies nudging into the market of what is already a bit of a melting pot of good and bad. It's good to see these give the bigger companies a run for their money.

Any idea which areas they actually cover?

    Where does Zzoomm cover?

NOTE: Zzoomm has largely focused their rollout on smaller towns in parts Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, North Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Wiltshire, Yorkshire and Cheshire. Despite the challenges, today's news does show progress, and the growth in take-up is a particularly welcome sign.21 Dec 2023 (edited)

Best internet provider we've ever had this one. Pay for 500mbps download and get over 700, never gone down, not slowed once, upload over 700mbps too.

Just to add, I also stay in a uni student house where we've just got BT Fibre 500 download too, the BT engineer was awful, couldn't put the wire where we wanted it (had to put the router in the kitchen, furthest point from all the rooms?) took him 5 hours, didn't get the router setup (BT also didn't send a fibre hub, so I had to go buy one off Facebook marketplace just to get it setup while the engineer was here). Engineer ended up asking us this "do you guys know about internet" ??? in a way like can we set it up instead because he cant. Was a lol moment, so I had to do it myself. The download speed of the BT fibre on the 500mbps package is 450mbps here, and an upload of 52mbps, so my zzoomm one is 10x faster upload, 250mbps faster download and its the same package. I know its different locations do make a difference, but its a big difference. Zzoomm is also about 50% cheaper.

Zzoomm sent a very good team and had the wire installed where we wanted it, took them about 25 mins and were fully done, it was also a more difficult job than the BT one we did.

I recently set up with Hey! Broadband, they gave me 12 months free to leave Vodafone and following 12 months on £25p/m.

No pay increase and promised speeds of at least 900mb down and upload.

    Free installation too.

Wifi speed, router in the room opposite:

    150 is 29.95 a month, but 500 is 24.95? Am I missing something?

I only appear to have the choice of Virgin Media (which after 25 years I finally cancelled) or Sky. So annoying the lack of choice for Northern Ireland! (edited)

Hi, Openreach is scheduled to install fibre optic cables by 22nd April in my flat.

Would that mean I would be able to get fibre-optic internet from one of those providers immediately after that?
    BargainByleth's avatar
Doubt it. Zoom don’t use Openreachs’ infrastructure they have their own. Similar to Virgin. That being said Zoom offer higher upload speeds than any company using Openreach

Inlaws are with these and the only issue is that Viki wont stream to them anymore - seems to think they are behind a proxy so blocking.

I’ve been with them since June and very happy. Download speeds are as promised and upload speeds better than I’ve seen anywhere else. They also run a very good “recommend a friend” scheme…. (edited)

Not available in my area but hopefully may change in the future. The speeds people are getting in the comments and the good support from installation is a good sign.

Does this come with a public IP?

If you can get it your area, go for it. No regrets from me.
