Just left O2. Absolutely shocking coverage nowadays.

I get 4/5 bars all the time, but 1-2 meg IF I am lucky... In fact RCS Messages (Text ones!) sometimes fail to go until I get home because the data is so bad. O2 has some major backhaul issues they need to sort out on their 4g towers. On the 5g towers (about 2 miles away) I get blazing fast speeds.

Is it not better to have these two as individual deals and get volt benefits ?
i mean on virgin website 1132 speed is available in 33/month if with o2, then 8/month deal has 64 GB data (double data with volt) plus TCB is 102 for BB & sim is I think 10 or so

I am new to virgin BB, Install next month, do you order booster boxes after install ? (edited)

You have to download the VM Connect app. Once your service is live you can start walking around your home and scanning the WiFi. If your wireless speeds fall below the minimum guarantee of 30Mb you can order one WiFi pod at a time.

If you are a Gig1 or Volt customer you’ll get these for free. Everyone else will pay £8 a month for them.

Note that they don’t work fantastically and if you want the best performance you’re far better buying your own mesh system instead.

If you’re an existing customer, you might be able to get better. I just renewed my Gig1 broadband for £22.05 two days ago (with an £8 O2 sim I have separately for Volt benefits). Showed up as a renewal deal on MyVirginMedia

This is encouraging, as I’m going to miss the £7 Gig1 package I have at the moment.

Anyone got advice on how to cancel the O2 contract?

Call them and say I wanna cancel.

Will the Broadband price not increase to the non-volt price if the 02 SIM is cancelled?

Also looks like no guarantee of anything other than the rubbish old Hub 3...no mention of Hub 5 anywhere in contractual documents. I'm guessing they will justify this by saying it's the supplied equipment for the M500 BB and they just apply the Volt speed increase to 1 Gig. If you have brick internal walls in your house, the difference in WiFi performance will be noticeable between the two types of Hub.

I recently had a contract, and they sent hub 3. I complaint about it but I was told after 1 month that no matter what I do, I won't get hub 5 unless I move to 1gb plan. I had very bad signal issues but virgin media could not care less. Now I am stuck with 18 months contract with poor signal and WiFi drops unless I comply and pay more for 1gb which I don't want do.

Wouldn't touch Virgin or 02 with a barge pole. I'll stick with my Voxi glitch SIM for tethering. No price rises. (edited)

Gitch SIM? I have a 300GB data only Voxi SIM (it's marked as 100GB, but Argos assured me once activated I'll get the 300GB data)

Excellent deal - I got close to this 4 months ago, but this is better.
I was an existing customer and complained that new customer got better deals.
    Thanks for sharing. (edited)

Currently paying £35 for Gig 1 alone which is going up to £38 in April. There's no other option in my area but hopefully there will be by the time my contract finishes.

Both superbad companies teaming up, what could go wrong.

Looks like new customers only. I've got 4 months and the best I can get is 6 mouths at this price then £59 for 17 months.
    bravo2zero1's avatar
exact same as deal they offered me only if I took up one of those stream boxes too.

Well, I had previously put in a cancelation notice (which is final tomorrow!). I thought I'd give them a call (retentions did ring back and offered £29 for 125MB - I was previously paying £31 for 300MB, TV & land line which shot up to £74, hence why I cancelled)
Just off the phone trying to get a better deal and the offer a TV box upgrade (the latest box & the Big TV package) with 1Gig for £67. I thought I may as well cancel and I'll just have to make do with 4G data until I can get this deal for £33...

Gave my notice and never had a return call to offer me a deal. Now with youfibre 1 gig upload/download evening weekend calls fixed price £33 a month for 2 years..... oh and the ping is 8ms for the gamers out there.....

Not a bad offer, I signed up for m500 and the upload addon for £6, then volted it so i get 1000/1000 for £39 which to me is ok,
People have had success cancelling the o2 sim too, just call up o2 to cancel it. (edited)
